Despite The Pokemon Company just announcing itsplans to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversaryonly last week, it seems that they are already eager to get celebrations underway. The Wand Company has announced a specialcollaboration with The Pokemon Company made to bring fans and collectors alike an officially-licensed high quality Poke Ball replica.
In addition to the replica’s die-cast metal shell, it is also packed with some fun technology. The special Poke Ball replica is capable of proximity sensing, capable of lighting up when someone’s hand is nearby, and the little device is also touch-sensitive, further lighting up the center of the Poke Ball replica when touched. For an even more immersive experience, the center button of the Poke Ball can be pressed to initiate a catching illumination sequence, and double-clicking the center of the replica will change its lights from white, to red, and finally green, imitating the way Poke Balls behave whencapturing a monster like in the games or animated series.
Each Poke Ball replica comes with its own polished stainless steel display ring, a display case designed for high-quality presentation, and is uniquely numbered for the sake of authentication. The replica can be pre-ordered online now from select retailers for $99.99 and will be delivered on February 27th(also known as Pokemon Day)of next year.
