Continuing his career resurgence, it has been announced that Nicolas Cage will be appearing in an upcoming comedy project by A24 studio titledDream Scenario. Recently, Cage has been seen in the astounding Neon filmPig,The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talentas a parody of himself, andFive Nigts At Freddy’sparody horrorWilly’s Wonderland.
According toDeadline, Cage will be teaming with A24 star writer and director Ari Aster forDream Scenario. Details about the project are currently unknown, but it will see Cage star while Aster and Lars Knudsen serve as producers for their Square Peg banner. The script will be penned and directed by Kristoffer Borgli.

As well as Aster and Knudsen, Jacob Jaffke and Tyler Campellone will produce alongside A24.Dream Scenariowill see the fourth collaboration betweenAster and Knudsen’s Square Peg banner afterHereditary,Midsommar, and the upcoming projectDisappointment Blvd. starring Joaquin Phoenix. Director Borgli saw his debut featureSick of Myselfpremiere at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
Cage’s performance as an isolated truffle pig owner inPigsaw him receive rave reviews, with many calling it the performance of his career, which saw the actor in the running for several awards throughout the year. Following on from the success ofPig, Cage appeared in the meta-comedy parodyThe Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, where the actor played a heightened version of himself alongside Pedro Pascal, who played a Cage superfan and dangerous criminal who has hired the actor to attend his birthday party. Along the way, Cage is recruited by the CIA and visited by different versions of his past self.
The 58-year-old Cage also has several projects in the pipeline.Butcher’s Crossingwill see Cage star in the motion picture adaptation of a John Williams novel about an Ivy League dropout who joins buffalo hunters in Colorado. Also on the horizon is Cage’s turn asDracula in the upcomingRenfield, a story focusing on Dracula’s henchman Renfield, played by Nicholas Hoult.
Aster is best known for his disturbing filmsHereditaryandMidsommarreleased under A24.Hereditarystars Toni Collette as the matriarch of a family dealing with grief who slowly spirals into a dark and supernatural place.Midsommarsees Florence Pughand Jack Reynor star as a couple who travel to Sweden for the Midsommar festival only for a sinister Pagan cult to turn the celebration dark.
