Ever since the release of the firstGod of Wargame back in 2005, every single entry in the series, including the 2018 reboot, has been a PlayStation exclusive. For so long, no one really questioned this exclusive partnership between Sony and Santa Monica Studios, and given that allGod of Wargames are stamped with the “Only on PlayStation” brand, the idea of seeingGod of Waroutside PlayStation was mostly inconceivable.

Now, it appears that things could be changing forGod of Warand its exclusive status on the PlayStation. As spotted by several Twitter users, 2018’sGod of War,whichbroke PlayStation Exclusives sales records upon its release, is no longer listed as Only for PlayStation. While it may not mean much for PlayStation players, the removal of the Only for PlayStation branding could hint thatGod of Waris heading to the PC.

Looking at the history of Sony, players would remember that bothDetroit: Become HumanandDeath Strandinghad the exclusivity branding at some point, but were removed before it was announced that both games will be heading to the PC. As of the moment, neither Sony norGod of Wardeveloper Santa Monica Studios has spoken about the recent change.

It’s always possible that this could just be a mistake on the part of PlayStation US, where the removal of the Only on PlayStation brand was spotted. Looking over at other regions such as Hong Kong and Australia would reveal thatGod of Waris still listed under the brand “PlayStation Exclusives.” It’s possible that someone from PlayStation US made a mistake, but it is a little bit baffling why anyone from Sony would be messing around the game page ofGod of War,especially since it has beentwo years since the game was released.

Another possibility is thatGod of Warhas indeed lost its PlayStation 4 exclusivity status and could be heading to the PC likeDeath Stranding,Detroit: Become Human, and soonHorizon: Zero Dawn. Another piece of evidence that adds to the likely possibility of a PC port is a tweet by Santa Monica developer, Cory Barlog, who said thathe would love to seeGod of Waron the PC. However, Barlog also revealed that the decision to port the game to any platform is way above his paygrade.
