The vast majority of 2DSuper Mario Bros.games have been met with widespread critical acclaim, though some of the more recent entries were not quite as well-received.New Super Mario Bros. 2on the 3DSis generally considered one of the weakest 2DSuper Mariogames, a distinction it shares withNew Super Mario Bros.
