NBA star Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks shares his favoriteOverwatch 2heroes. It’s strange to think that celebrities like NBA stars play video games, but it’s also becoming increasingly true that many, if not most people, play video games. Doncic fits that trend, having talked at length about his love of video games since his rookie year in the NBA starting in 2018. It seems he’s joined the rest of theOverwatchfanbase in playingOverwatch 2, though his favorites may not have changed.
Doncic, for those unfamiliar, is one of the NBA’s most exciting young stars. The 2018-2019 season of the NBA resulted in Doncic winning the Rookie of the Year award, and he hasn’t slowed down since. In the years since, he’s been chosen for the NBA’s All-Star team and the All-NBA First Team, in particular. He hasn’t managed to secure a regular season MVP award yet, nor have the Mavericks looked like a championship team with Doncic, but he’s absolutely placed himself among thehighest tier of NBA players.

While he may be among the best basketball players in the world, Doncic isn’t necessarily aGrandmasterOverwatch 2player. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy the game, though. According to a question and answer session Doncic held on TikTok, the NBA player says that his favoriteOverwatch 2characters are Roadhog, Hanzo, and Cassidy.
Roadhog has certainly seen a turnaround since the start ofOverwatch 2’s second season, but both Hanzo and Cassidy have been somewhat underpowered sinceOverwatch 2’s launch. That could mean that Doncic hasn’t been able to play as muchOverwatch 2as he didOverwatch. The NBA season is in full swing, after all. Or it more likely means Doncic doesn’t care about the meta and plays what he likes.
This isn’t the first time that Doncic has mentioned being a fan ofOverwatch, of course. In 2018, prior to being drafted for the NBA, Doncic was asked a similar question. At the time, Doncic said that he mained bothHanzo and Genji. Genji seems to have been left behind in favor of Roadhog and Cassidy, though.
Overwatch 2isn’t Doncic’s only favorite game. He’s previously mentioned that he’s a big fan of theCall of Dutyfranchise, too. He also plays a lot ofFIFA. Funnily enough, while he’s been acover star forNBA 2K22, he hasn’t mentioned whether he plays the basketball game. Overall, he said he used to spend “two-to-three hours a day” playing video games, but it’s unclear if he still does. He’s only 23 years old and doesn’t have any kids, for now. Hopefully, he enjoysOverwatch 2and other games for as long as he chooses.
