Last September, Naughty Dog announced that it will be releasing a special Ellie Edition forits most ambitious game yet,The Last of Us 2. Despite its steep price of $229, the Ellie Edition of the upcoming game quickly sold out, which disappointed fans who were unable to pre-order due to limited stocks.
Now, Naughty Dog revealed via the PlayStation Blog that after receiving countless e-mails and messages on social media from fans ofThe Last of Us, the studio will be working closely with the PlayStation team to make moreThe Last of Us 2Ellie Editions. As such, the studio revealed that the special edition will be available for pre-order in limited quantities starting February 13 at 6 AM PST. Players interested would be happy to know thatThe Last of Us 2Ellie Edition will be available at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.

For those unfamiliar, the Ellie Edition of the upcoming game is priced at $229 and will beone of the many special editions available forThe Last of Us 2. However, the Ellie Edition will be the top of the line collector’s edition of the game that is perfect for the most dedicated fan ofThe Last of Us.Apart from a copy of the game contained in a steelbook case, the Ellie Edition will also include a massive amount of collectible items and exclusive digital content.
Moreover, Naughty Dog’s announcement via the PlayStation Blog also revealed that a hands-on demo ofThe Last of Us 2will also be available at PAX East 2020. Starting February 27 until March 1, attendees will be able to experience the first public demo of the upcoming game, which will feature an early area where Ellie and Dina venture out to Jackson to clear a horde of infected. The demo will be an hour-long and will provide players a glimpse of what to expect when the full game releases this May. Apart fromThe Last of Us 2,a demo forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill also be available at the event.
Meanwhile, the ESRB recently gaveThe Last of Us 2its official age rating, which will be rated “M” for Mature. Of course, this is not at all surprising given the extreme gore and violence that will be depicted in the upcoming game. Interestingly enough, the ESRB’s rating also seems to suggest thatThe Last of Us 2will also delve into sexual content and nudity. Of course, if Naughty Dog will indeed explore intimate scenes in the game, thenThe Last of Us 2will be the studio’s most mature and adult-oriented game as of yet.
