Multiversus(at the time of writing this) has just started its second season, with new characters like Samurai Jack now playable and future characters like Beetlejuice not too far away. However, just because there are a lot of newer characters to choose from, doesn’t mean that the classic characters on the roster are any weaker. In fact, characters like Superman have felt powerful inMultiversussince day one, regardless of how many changes he’s gone through.

And the quickest way to make Clark Kent feel even stronger is with proper Perk choices. This includes his Signature Perk of course but it also includes his Team, Strong, and Standard Perk choices. So, let’s talk about all the Perk options available inMultiversusand see which ones tend to benefit Superman to most when equipped.

Multiversus - Superman Sniper Punch Signature Perk

Updated August 1st, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter:Superman is one of Multiversus' best characters, or so the player base seems to think. He’s one of the few tank-type characters the game has to offer alongside characters such as Wonder Womanor Jason Voorhees, but Superman almost feels even tankier than the rest. Not only that, but Superman has a command grab, projectiles, a ton of Armored attacks, and a lot of mobility, making him a true terror in the hands of a pro. With that in mind, let’s take a deep look at his Perk options in Multiversus and see which ones benefit him the most to have equipped.

Effect

Sniper Punch

Superman’s aim punch range is extended. The damage and knockback from the aim punch are increased at long distances but decreased in close quarters.

First up is Superman’s Signature Perk, and there’s only one real option, which is of course Sniper Punch. The other two options, Break the Ice and Flaming Re-Entry are just way too situational or require a playstyle that doesn’t really mesh well with what Superman does best, while Sniper Punch only serves to let Superman decimate opponents at an even lower percentage than he already can. Seriously, if aimed properly at max range, Superman’s aim punch can KO some opponents from center stage at, like, the high 60s, which is just absurd.

Multiversus - Superman Press the Advantage Perk

Meanwhile, Break the Ice requires you to keep enemies debuffed with Superman’s Ice Breath as often as you can and Flaming Re-Entry just makes his leap attack a bit more dangerous. They’re not bad choices, it’s just that Sniper Punch is a much better choice overall.

Press the Advantage

Your team applies a stack of Weakened when knocking back enemies that are above 125 damage. If your teammate also selects this Perk, Weakened is applied above 110 damage instead.

Superman’s Team Perk slot is probably the one where thehighest number of Perkswork almost equally well here, but Press the Advantage is still the best pick overall. This is because, with Press the Advantage, Superman just has an easier time KO’ing opponents at high damage numbers.

Multiversus - Superman Last Stand Perk

The reason why this is especially good on Superman is due to the fact that he can chase opponents off stage and into the air a lot safer than many other characters, due to his high mobility and command grab Side+Special. The only other alternative option that is of equal use to Press the Advantage is Snowball Effect, and that’s purely because Snowball Effect is just a passive damage buff that you don’t really need to think about after equipping it.

Last Stand

While you have at least 100 damage, knocking back enemies applies Weakened.

Last Stand is pretty muchthe best-in-slot optionfor all of the tankier characters inMultiversus, and Superman is one of the best tanks in the game. It’s already hard enough to kill this Kryptonian at high damage numbers by default, but with Last Stand he makes it even tougher.

Multiversus - Superman Fully Charged Perk

When combined with Press the Advantage, it makes it feel like you’re always applying Weakened when hitting opponents, which is fantastic considering Weakened is one of the best debuffs the game has to offer. It may be a bit boring, but Last Stand is just the best option for anything other than Mage or Assassin characters, without question.

Armor Crush

Your fully charged attacks break Armor.

Last up isSuperman’s Standard Perk recommendation, and for this, it just has to be Armor Crush. Most of you would probably expect Pugilist to be the recommendation here, and that is a great pick, but Armor Crush is more tailored towards the parts of Superman that are already strong, which are his sheer number of Armored Charge Attacks. Superman has 3+ Charge Attacks that have Armor on them, deal a ton of damage/knockback, and are relatively safe to use.

So, with Armor Crush, this makes it so that Superman wins in most confrontations, which is ridiculous considering he usually wins when it comes to the priority of attacks by default. Of course, if you don’t find yourself up against opponents utilizing Armored Attacks all that often, then Pugilist is a fantastic secondary choice, but in general Armor Crush just serves to further bolster Superman’s already ridiculous Charged Attacks.
