A PC beta tester ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2managed recently to score an incredibly lucky kill using a claymore. Like its predecessors,Modern Warfare 2is a treasure trove of amazing frags. Thanks to the fast-paced shooter action, players can find kills in quick succession, overcome unlikely situations, and even accidentally frag players they didn’t see or hear. A recent clip from theModern Warfare 2beta testing reveals one of the latter, where the Reddit user not only got an accidental kill, but with an accidental weapon.
The upcomingModern Warfare 2is the reboot of the massively popular 2009 game under the same name set to release next month. Activision beganCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2beta testing a couple of weekends ago, and PC gamers finally got to enjoy the game as theModern Warfare 2open beta’s second weekendexpanded to PCs this past weekend. The testing is now available for all players for two more days, as the conclusion of the beta event is going to be tomorrow, September 26.

The PC gamer by the name of Lasang22 was playing the beta in a 6v6 game on Mercado Las Almas, running through the busy market streets as they spotted an enemy on the second floor of the Cantina. However, a quick flick to the window didn’t result in a headshot worthy of a clip on Reddit, but the subsequent actions did. As one of the all too familiarModern Warfare 2campersdisappeared from the window, Lasang22 decided to chuck a grenade to finish the opponent. However, instead of grabbing a grenade from the belt, Lasang22 took a claymore and placed it in the middle of the street.
The enemy got away, for now at least, but Lasang22 continued to pursue him inside the building. While running inside the building, the claymore placed on the road found a victim. Little did Lasang22 know, that someone was following fast in their footsteps, and only seconds after placing the mine they would meet their maker. This isn’t the first time aModern Warfare 2player has gotten a ridiculous accidental kill, but it might be the first with an accidental weapon choice.
As one can imagine, Lasang22 was surprised. There was no indication that danger loomed not only from above but behind as well. As mentioned, the placement of the claymore wasn’t intended, and it wasn’t even placed in a particularly good spot. Instead of placing it on top of a staircase, after a tight corner, or inconspicuously among the debris, the claymore was placed in the most easily detectable spot, in the middle of the pavement. However, every kill counts, and this one even got the player aCall of Dutyclassic Killstreak, the UAV. Unfortunately, the story ends there, and whether Lasang22 got the intended target upstairs, was never revealed.
