One of the most intriguing things aboutMinecraftis the community that is dedicated to creating some incredible builds and structures. While some people use their ingenuity tocreate things like a working game of Tetris using just redstone, others like to replicate things from other franchises. That’s exactly what one fan did as they recently showed off their latest creation from the Mojang-made sandbox game, which pertains to a rather palatial place from one of the biggest fantasy epics ever.

A Reddit user known as 1nsinuating has posted a wide-angle image fromMinecraftwhich shows their reconstruction of theElven town of Rivendell fromThe Lord of the Rings, where the fellowship gather to inform the council. The image depicts the town from a distance, showing keen attention to detail, with the mountains encircling the build. The image is complete with some added effects rendered in Blender, such as rising fog, to really sell the quality of the construction. The user said it took them three to four weeks to complete the project.

Many in the thread have praised the work that 1nsinuating has put into the replica. One person asked whether thisMinecraftreimagining was actually built by the fan or whether they took a photo, to which they replied that they had used the movies for a lot of references. Another inquired as to whether it was possible to have a version of the map to download, to which it became apparent that the creator was indeed selling it, likely on theMinecraftmarketplace.

They also added that they did get some help from some third-party software, which is a common practice in creating large, painstakingly accurate, projects in the game. When asked, 1nsinuating said they had help from WorldEdit andVoxelsniper which is used to make insane sculptures inMinecraft. The fact that they used additional software to help with the build does not detract from the sheer skill, effort, and time that has gone into recreating Rivendell. It’s perhaps even more incredible as the whole thing was constructed in the vanilla version of the game, so no mods were used.

The fan base is full of creative and talented individuals who are keen to showcase their projects. Someone even went as far as to builda perfect circle inMinecraft, which just goes to show the lengths people will go to really push the limits of what’s possible in the game.
