It’s beenten years nowsince the last mainlineFablegame and fans have clearly been hungry for a sequel ever since, with only a couple of spin-off titles to keep them pre-occupied. Despite there being no official word, many seem convinced that aFable 4is in the works and new evidence has been discovered that could point to that being true.

On June 26th, the trademark forFablewas renewed by Microsoft, which on its own isn’t anything special, as companies regularly renew trademarks for IPs they control, not always with the intent to do anything with them.

However, it has been noted that theIntent to Use tag has been marked with Yes, heavily implying, if not outright confirming, that Microsoft hasn’t abandoned the series and fully intends on doing something with it in the future.

The Current Use tag has been marked with No, though, which could mean that nothing is in development at the moment, which might suggest that the supposedFable 4doesn’t exist yet. In fact, the trademark doesn’t necessarily confirm that Microsoft plans on making a new game in the series and might be using the IP for something else, like merchandise.

This trademark does almost seem to go against what Microsoft stated recently regardingan officialFableTwitter account. Though it was made by Microsoft, it was only made so the company could secure a social handle for the IP, which is standard practice, and has apparently been inactive for years.

Fans didn’t necessarily buy that claim, as it was discovered that the account was made quite recently and not years ago. Between this and the trademark renewal, somethingFablerelated is coming and Microsoft is most likely trying to misdirect everyone so as to make some possible surprise reveal even greater.

This month, Microsoft will be holdingan Xbox Series X event, which will be showing off new first-party games for the console. While not many games have been confirmed for the event, some suspect that aFablereveal might be there.

Considering how strong the PlayStation 5 reveal was in terms of some of the games it announced, likeResident Evil 8andHorizon Forbidden West,aFable 4announcementcould be what Microsoft needs to help its console stand up to its Sony rival.

Fable 4is rumored to be in development.
