As one of the biggest superhero universes,Marvelhas dozens of famous superheroes and even more obscure ones. Despite the many characters it created, a pattern exists among the superheroes. A fair number of them use the moniker of Captain, and more often than not, they find themselves holding a position of power, sometimes even leading a team of superheroes.

But even though the name Captain is popular among the superheroes, there can only be one strongest Captain in theMarveluniverse. Regardless of how impressive they all are, only one Captain can be the Captain of all Marvel Captains!

5Captain Carter

Captain Carter is the newest Captain-themed superherothat has appeared in the MCU. It’s an alternate version of Captain America. In this universe, Peggy Carter got the serum instead of Steve Rogers, also woke up in the future, and went on to save the world from Ultron alongside other superheroes. The reason why Captain Carter doesn’t rank as high as other superheroes is that she didn’t have as much time to practice her powers.

Plus, she suffered a quick defeat at the hands of Wanda Maximoff inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness(2022). Overall, Captain Carter seems able to easily take on non-powered opponents on her own but might struggle to defeat the heavy hitters, while Captain America stood his ground even against someone as strong as Thanos inAvengers: Endgame(2019).

4Captain America

Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is the best-known Captain of the Marvel universe. Captain America’s origin story is well-known. After he was injected with the super-soldier serum, Steve Rogers became extremely strong, fast, and resilient; a peak of human perfection. Other than the powers the serum brought him, Captain America is also a trained fighter and determined to defeat his enemies. In the comics, he ages slowly as well, something that has been hinted at in the MCU too.

Overall, even though Captain America is still a human, unlike other superheroes, his list of powers and his strategic mind made himone of the stronger superheroes in the Marvel universe. Other people besides Steve Rogers held the title of Captain America, such as Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson, but considering the extent of his skills and previous experience, Rogers is most likely the strongest Captain America.

3Captain Britain

While Captain America fights primarily for the USA, he inspired heroes from other parts of the world as well. One of them wasBrian Braddock, aka Captain Britain. At least, that’s what happened in the Ultimate comic-book universe. In the main comic-book universe, Brian gained powers after being granted the mystical Amulet of the Right. As for his specific strength, it’s stated that Captain Britain can lift upmost to 90 tons. Unlike other superheroes, his powers were connected to his homeland, so if he went too far away from the UK, they would weaken and eventually disappear. However, this obstacle later vanished.

Captain Britain has many abilities often associated with superheroes. Other than super strength, he possesses superhuman stamina, durability, agility, and his senses and reflexes are enhanced as well. What’s more, he’s able to fly at the maximum speed of approximately 770 miles per hour. Even though he’s not as known as other superheroes, he’s strong enough to have been able to defeat even Captain America, making him stronger than Steve Rogers.

2Captain Marvel

In the history of Marvel Comics, there have been two prominent characters who held a similar name.Carol Danvers is one of them. In the comics, an alien device mutated her DNA and made her into one of the strongest superheroes. As a result, Captain Marvel has a rich array of powers at her disposal. She can send out energy blasts from her hands that are efficient at knocking out her enemies. She can fly and breathe in space, as she demonstrated in the MCU as well.

One of her less-used but still impressive powers includes generating and controlling radiation and gravity. And like many superheroes, Captain Marvel is superhumanly strong, agile, durable, and has enhanced reflexes. Her strength allows her to lift hundreds of thousands of tons, making her considerably stronger than the likes of Captain America or Captain Britain. So much so that she was able to defeat even Superman in a majority of fights that happened between them in the comics.

1Captain Mar-Vell

Even though Captain Marvel is very powerful, her predecessor, Captain Mar-Vell, is even stronger. He was a member of the powerful Kree race. Considering his alien origin, Captain Mar-Vell possesses superhuman strength. He can fly in space and doesn’t need to breathe. He’s able to absorb solar energy and convert it to use however he wishes.

However, his complete list of powers is much longer, and it includes abilities such as fast healing, endurance, sending out energy blasts, enhanced senses, knowledge of martial arts, immunity to radiation, and many more. The best demonstration of his power is that when Captain Mar-Vell fought Captain Marvell (Carol Danvers), he won in 76 percent of the cases, making it obvious that the original Captain Mar-Vell remains, for the time being, the most powerful Captain among Marvel superheroes.
