With so many interesting details about favorite superheroes from bothMarvelandDC, it’s easy to sometimes forget the basics. For example, when the superheroes celebrate their birthday. While it doesn’t usually have a direct impact on the storyline, it’s an interesting detail that every fan should know about their favorite superheroes.

With the month of April upcoming, it’s as good a time as any to discover how manyDCandMarvelsuperheroes were born in April. Their numbers are surprisingly large and beg the question of whether these superheroes would ever be able and willing to celebrate their birthdays together in one epic birthday crossover comic book issue.

5Carol Danvers

Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, is one of the most powerful Marvel superheroes both inthe comics and in the MCU. While Carol likes to keep her cards close to her chest for the most part to protect her privacy, there are still a few things the public knows about her. One such detail is her birthday. Carol Danvers was born on the 24th of April in the comics.

Her birthday in the MCU, on the other hand, remains unknown at the moment, and it’s unclear whether the movies will follow the comics on this or not. Thanks to her complicated past and a set of powers, Carol appears much younger than she is. She’s in her 50s in the comics but looks like a person good two or three decades younger.

4Maria Hill

Thanks to her no-nonsense personality, it’s hard to imagine Maria Hill celebrating her birthday in the circle of her closest friends and allies. In the MCU, Maria seems the closest to her boss Nick Fury. In the comics, she forms alliances but seems to not quite trust anyone. As such, she most likely celebrates her birthday alone or in a small circle on the 4th of April.

Interestingly enough, Maria’s age is a complicated matter. Since she was one of the victims of the Snap or the Blip caused by Thanos, she’s 41 years old chronologically in the MCU in 2023 but physically, she’s in her mid-30s. Of course, there’s also the fact that Maria Hill was laterreplaced by a Skrull in the MCUand there’s no way of telling how old the Skrull impersonating her is.

3Peggy Carter

Both Maria Hill and Peggy Carter proved over and over again that a person doesn’t need to have special powers in order to take on multiple villains and emerge victorious.Peggy went on to become the superhero Captain Carterin one timeline, having been injected with the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers, but even before that, she was an accomplished fighter.

Unlike with other more mysterious Marvel superheroes, both Peggy’s date of birth and the year are known. She was born on the 9th of April 1921, meaning she was just in her 20s when she actively participated in World War Two and fought alongside Captain America. Peggy later went on to become one of the establishing members of the S.H.I.E.L.D., creating an impressive career for herself.

2Alfred Pennyworth

While not a superhero, Alfred Pennyworth proved his worth many times over as he always stood by Batman as his right hand. What’s more, he not only helped Batman to lead his crusade against the criminals of Gotham but also raised Bruce Wayne after the tragic death of his parents. Alfred’s biting sense of humor and loyalty made him one of the most popular supporting characters in the Batman comics and ensured thatAlfred would appear in almost every live-action movie focused on Batman.

Even Batman fans might not all be aware that Alfred was born in April, more specifically on the 8th. So was Bruce Wayne, but only the one from Earth-2. This version of Bruce celebrates his birthday only a day before Alfred while the Earth-1 Batman was born in February instead.

1Jay Garrick

One of the things connecting the most iconic superheroes - such as Batman, or the Flash - is that throughout the years, multiple people held the same superhero name. So, even thoughthe best-known Flash is Barry Allen right now, other speedsters took on this identity, such as Jay Garrick, the golden age Flash. Like Barry, Jay was capable of achieving super speed and used it to fight crime.

He became better known to a wider audience after appearing in the second (and subsequent) seasons of the Arrowverse’s showThe Flash. However, the show initially presented a false Jay Garrick who later turned out to be the evil speedster Zoom. The real Jay Garrick, aka the Flash, finally showed up as well, and the team-up between him and Barry Allen was one of the highlights of the show. All of this wouldn’t have been possible if Jay hadn’t been born on the 3rd of April and didn’t appear in the comics for the first time in January 1940.
