The ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event is just around the corner, and it will provideXboxgamers the opportunity to play dozens of free demos. The digital demo event is a part ofThe Game Awards 2021, which takes place on December 9. In the case of the ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event, it begins on December 7.
The demos that players will be able to enjoy during the ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event are different than traditional demos that are often in theXboxLive storefront. Instead of giving players a small chunk of a completed game, the demos are early peaks at games that are still in various stages of development. Additionally, they will only be available for a limited time, giving the feeling of gamers being at a gaming convention such as E3 or Gamescom.

Beginning on December 7 and lasting through December 21, Xbox gamers will be able to play over 35 demos on their Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S of yet-to-be-released titles. Xbox has yet to release the full list, but perhaps some of them will eventually land onThe Game Awards Best Indie nominations. In terms of the games that were confirmed, five unique titles for the ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event were highlighted in an Xbox Wire article.
Players will be able to test their patience andBloodborne-esque skills with thedungeon crawling roguelikeLoot River. Along with unique gameplay that allows players to seemingly control both the platform in aTetris-like way and the player, the game has an art style that combines old-school pixel art with hand-drawn aesthetics.Death Trashis another game that players will be able to demo with the ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event, a title that looks to combine old-school RPG elements with player freedom and action-packed gameplay.
Blacktailis an archery action title that is a retelling of the Baba Yaga origin story. Meanwhile,The Tale of Bistunis an action-adventure with a story focused on Persian mythology. Lastly,Nobody Saves the Worldis a unique RPG where players take on various forms to complete quests and explore a vast world. Along with enjoying the titles during the demo period, some of the games could also eventually be tied to Xbox Game Pass, asNobody Saves the Worldwill be releasing on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
The full list of games for the ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo Event will be announced in the coming days. Along with giving the ID@Xbox developers the chance to showcase their titles in a unique way, the digital demo event is also an exciting way to show what Xbox and other platforms can do with events in the future. It would be interesting to see if early demos that would normally only be playable in-person at E3, Gamescom, etc. will one day be playable for a limited time at home as well.
