Back in the day, cheat codes could be found in all kinds of games, allowing players to have a little extra fun or make life easier for themselves. However, with the rise of online multiplayer games and the introduction of Trophies and Achievements,cheats have become a lot less prevalent in modern games. Of course,Red Dead Redemptionis not a modern game.

Like many of theother great games from Rockstar Games,Red Dead Redemptionhas plenty of cheats. Unfortunately, using them prevents players from unlocking Trophies and Achievements and disables autosaving, meaning that players can’t gain any real advantage from them. However, that doesn’t mean that they can’t still be useful for having fun and causing a little chaos.
There are 21 unlockableRDR1cheats, each of which requires players to enter a special code via the Cheats menu. To do so, players will need to navigate to the Cheats menu via the Options menu and then press Triangle (PlayStation), Y (Xbox), or X (Switch) to bring up the on-screen keyboard. They’ll then need to type in the code, being sure to make note of any punctuation such as commas, apostrophes, or exclamation points, as failing to include these will lead to the code being invalid.

After entering a cheat code for the first time it will be automatically added to the list ofRDR 1cheats, ensuring that players won’t need to enter it again in the future. Once unlocked, players will be able to toggle a cheat on and off using the option on the right.
In addition to the 21 unlockableRed Dead Redemptioncheat codes listed above, players will also have access to 18 other cheats by default. These were originally tied to the Rockstar Social Club service, but as that’s no longer available, they’ll be unlocked automatically as soon as players boot up the game, allowing them to cause a little carnage right from the get-go.
