How to Repair Power Armor in Fallout 4

For many players, the first set of Power Armor they find inFallout 4will be the set found during ‘When Freedom Calls,’ the first mission tohelp Preston Garveyand the Minutemen. When first entering the set of T-45 Power Armor, players will notice a small diagram on the left side of the HUD.

This diagram depicts the status of each piece of armor, and players can see that multiple pieces are shown in red. A section in red means that a piece ofPower Armor needs repair. If players go too long without fixing it, it will break entirely, and stop offering any protection.

Power Armor Stations:

To fix any set ofPower Armor inFallout 4, players will first need to find or craft aPower Armorstation. Once players know what they are looking for, the station is easy to spot. While there is more than one type of Power Armor station, they all share the same basic features: two yellow posts that look like small cranes, with two long, skinny platforms that sit on the ground. A Power Armor station can be seen in the main menu, holding the Power Armor in place.

How to Fix Power Armor:

Once players have found or crafted a station, approach it while wearing a suit of armor. Do not try to exit Power Armor too close to the station, even though that seems like it would be the obvious way to do it. Instead, exit a short distance from the station, then approach it and select the prompt for ‘Craft’ (X on PlayStation, A on Xbox).

The Power Armor set will then teleport onto the station, and the player is then free to repair or modify their armor set.

With the crafting menu open, highlight each piece of armor available. Look for the small dot to the left of each piece that indicates that it is currently equipped. Once a piece is highlighted, look at the information box shown on the lower left side of the screen. It will display the various stats and traits that apply to that piece. Thehealthstat reveals whether a piece needs repair.

At this point, to repair the armor, the player simply needs to press Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PS). This will bring up a confirmation box that reveals how many materials are required for the repair. In the beginning, only steel will be needed. However, as the pieces become more complex, the requirements for repair will too.

Where to Find Power Armor Stations in Fallout 4

If players find themselves in dire need of a Power Armor station, and do not want to fast-travel back to a camp, there are a few places where they can be found in the wild.

While players can find Power Armor Stations in the wild, the best choice is to simply build a station at every new settlement and camp that is brought into the fold. They require players to have the Lvl. 2Local Leaderperk (Charisma, tier 6), and the Lvl. 1Armorerperk (Strength, tier 3)
