While also adding a lot of new weapon types for players to use,Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtreeadds a lot of new weapons to previously existing classes. A common new type of weapon are the Smithscript weapons, which mostly act the same as other weapons in their classexcept that they can be thrown.
While throwing your weapon may not seem like the best idea, these weapons instantly return to the player’s hand, letting them throw their weapon while not losing it and needing to retrieve it. While the idea of throwing a Great hammer may seem a little off, players can do so by finding the Smithscript Greathammer; here’s where to get it.
Where To Find The Smithscript Greathammer In Shadow Of The Erdtree
TheSmithscript Greathammerisfound in Taylew’s Ruined Forge dungeon, located below the Shadow Keep. This dungeon can be reached earlier than one would expect, as the entrance is far from the Shadow Keep, and can be reached by traveling northeast from the Highroad Cross Site of Grace, before cutting West and going under the road leading to the front gate of the Shadow Keep. Taking this path can also lead players to theGravesite Plain Map fragmentto unlock the upper left section of the map.
Once inside Taylew’s Ruined Forge, head down the path to the left, past the flame slime, and down the ladder. From here, look to the right to see the stone cylinder dangling on chains between this side of the room and the other.Jump onto the cylinder and then to the far side. Now look to the back left corner of the room to see a flame slime drop between you and an item. Either defeat or run past the enemy to loot the body and get theSmithscript Greathammer.
For its basic attack and general playstyle, this weapon is a lot like all great hammers,excelling with strength builds. What makes it unique is its strong attack, which will see the playerspin multiple times to wind up before releasing the hammer and launching it at an enemy. The windup can add more risk to the throw as enemies will move or charge the player, but the damage is significant. Despite being a unique weapon, it can be infused with adifferent Ash of Waras it only starts with the skill Endure.
