Hogwarts Legacytells the story of a young fifth-year student during their time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While the beginning of the game tasks the protagonist with attending class and completing schoolwork, there is also a lot to find outside the castle’s walls.

The world ofHogwarts Legacyis chock-full of collectibles that players can discover as they explore certain areas on the map. That said, not all collectibles, like Spider Fangs, are easy to find, especially if the player doesn’t know how to acquire them. Spider Fangs serve a pretty important purpose inHogwarts Legacy, so players will need to acquire some if they wish to experience what they can be used for.
What Do Spider Fangs Do?
Once collected, a Spider Fang can be used tocreate a Maxima Potion, an extremely powerful brew that enhances the power of the drinker’s spells. Upon drinking a Maxima Potion, the player will be able to deal more damage for a total of thirty seconds, so players should know how to brew it if they are struggling to defeat certain enemies.
To create a Maxima Potion, the player needs to have aSpider Fang, someLeech Juice, and access to aPotions Stationfrom either Professor Sharp’s classroom or the player’sRoom of Requirement.
Where To Buy Spider Fangs In Hogwarts Legacy
For those who haveGalleons to spare, a limited number of Spider Fangs can be purchased from theJ. Pippin’s Potions storeon the western side of Hogsmeade. Buying one requires the player to spend50 Galleons, and though this sounds like a reliable way to acquire them, J. Pippin only ever has a few in stock.
Players who only want to create one Maxima Potion can purchase a Spider Fang from this store, but those who want to brew several will need to set off into the world ofHogwarts Legacyand collect them manually.
Spider Fang Locations In Hogwarts Legacy
While exploring the vast world ofHogwarts Legacy, players will happen upon a variety of magical beasts. Most ofthese beasts can be rescuedand raised in the Room of Requirement, but a select few become aggressive if the player gets too close. Since there’s no reasoning with these particular beasts, the player will need to slay or run away from them if they hope to survive their attacks.
Hogwarts Legacyis riddled witharachnid-like enemiesthat, when defeated,can drop Spider Fangsfor the player to collect. These spiders can be found quite frequently by simply exploringthe Forbidden Forestorentering inside caves, but the best way to find a group of them is to locate and infiltrate aSpider Lair.
There arethree separate Spider Lairsin the Forbidden Forest, but if the player is struggling to find them while navigating the forest,they should fast-travelto theNorth Ford Bog Entrance Floo Flameandtravel slightly southwest. Upon reaching the bridge, the player should then mount their broom and descend into the cobweb-filled crevice below, where they will then be attacked by several spiders.

Once all the spiders in this area have been defeated, the player shouldcast Revelioto check if any of them dropped a Spider Fang. If they did, the player can then approach the Spider Fang and interact with it to collect it.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4, and a Switch version will release on July 25.
