Reddit user Sus_dyingTheSecond recently shared a clip of their use of a violent robbery atRed Dead Redemption 2’s Valentine Gunsmith. The clip begins with the player aiming at and shooting the Gunsmith who dies instantly. Though there aren’t any visibleRed Dead Redemption2 NPCsat the Gunsmith, the player is immediately flagged as wanted. The player then walks around to the register and takes the cash before attempting an escape. With the whole town pursuing theRed Dead Redemption 2criminal, Sus_dyingTheSecond doesn’t make it far before being fatally shot in a massive shootout.
After escaping the Valentine Gunsmith $27 richer, the player mounts a waiting horse. Trying to avoid hitting another horse, the players' horse collides with a carriage, sendingtheRed Dead Redemption 2protagonistflying. Sus_dyingTheSecond takes some damage from the fall before bullets start flying at them from all directions as the town rallies behind the fallen Gunsmith. The player shoots and kills the carriage driver who attempted to get away, but the armed Valentine population kills them shortly after. Though the player eventually succumbed to their wounds, they were able to take out a few NPCs before being overwhelmed.
While the player could have tried to rob theRed Dead Redemption 2weaponshop by maintaining their aim on the Gunsmith, either action will get a response from local law enforcement. Although performing a robbery may have produced a different outcome, the local NPCs may have still turned aggressive. Because NPCs may not give players all the money in a register, Sus_dyingTheSecond’s course of action could have been more lucrative than a robbery. Though it’s common for nearby NPCs to interject in violent situations, it’s unclear why so much of Valentine retaliated against Sus_dyingTheSecond.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
