Now thatThe Witcherseason 2 is officially here, it’s apparently time to think about season 3 for Henry Cavill and the gang. The actor, who plays Geralt in the Netflix original series, already has some ideas for where the show could go in season 3, and he’d like to see it take a page out ofThe Witchervideo game by visiting Toussaint.
WhileThe WitcherNetflix series has made it very clear that it’s based on the books more than the video games, it appears that everyone involved with the show understands that there’s only so much story ideas that can be pulled from those books. However, even with Cavill’s latest ideas about where season 3 should go, he was careful to point out thatToussaint has a bigger presence in theWitchergame and it’s mentioned in the books as well.

Speaking toIGNduring a recent press junket for theThe Witcherseason 2, Cavill explained that season 3 is likely going to have to go beyond the books. He made it clear that he understands that readers don’t know exactlywhat happens to Geraltat the end of those books. There’s a strong suggestion to his fate, but nothing concrete. The video games are mostly set after the books as well and they all have different endings.
In Cavill’s eyes, he thinks that gives the show some leeway in its storytelling moving forward. When asked about Touissant, which isthe setting forThe Witcher 3DLCBlood & Wine, and how it might work in the television show, Cavill explained that at one point in the books, Geralt does go there and gets trapped there when the pastors are snowed in. He added that there is a “beautiful opportunity” to explore that region in the show.
Interestingly enough, while Cavill knows about Touissant from the books, he apparently only knows about the setting ofBlood & Winefrom others. The actor recently divulged that he’snever played the DLC forThe Witcher 3, though he does intend to rectify that soon. He said there’s a decent chance he’s going to be sitting down with his nephews over Christmas and see if they can play through the extra content then.
While Cavill has some ideas for where the series should go, nothing is set in stone just yet. For now,The Witcherfans will just have to be happy that season 2 has officially arrived.
