Summary
Halo Infinitehas been working hard to get back on track after nearly two years of hardship and lack of content. The fan base has wavered significantly in the past, but recent efforts by 343 have largely improved the state of the game by making true on certain promises made early on. Though not in a perfect state,Halo Infinitehas come a long way and finally seems to be on track to becoming a fullHaloexperience. This December, there is set to be another content drop to further this comeback story.
Halo Infinite’s recent Season 5: Reckoning has brought the largest update to the game to date. The addition of several new maps, including the fan-favoriteHalo 3Refueled playlist, has largely been well-received by fans. Perhaps the most notable of these new additions is the ability to add AI to custom games through Forge. The abilities ofHaloforgers are now greater than in anyHalogame that has come before, with fan-made firefight modes and other unique ideas coming to fruition. However, this is only the beginning of Season 5’s offerings.

The Winter Contingency 3 update is also rumored to include new winter-themed maps and more. These new maps are supposedly going to be an assortment of maps already in the game that will have snow added to them as a way to match the theme. To go along with these maps, there are sure to benew weeklyHalo Infinitechallengesrelated to the event. The idea of updating preexisting maps is pretty interesting, and could be a good way to add new life to the game down the road.
Firefight
Perhaps the biggest content update coming toHalo Infinitein Season 5 is the long-awaited Firefight. Though players have managed to develop custom Forge-based Firefight modes in the game already, they lack the polish and support a proper Firefight mode receives. This is undoubtedly one of the most highly-requested features forHalo Infinite, and the fact that it is finally arriving bodes well for the future of the game. As Firefight has been one of thebest co-op modes inHalosinceODSTandReach, it is exciting to see what 343 does with it inInfinite.
New Equipment
Though the date for Firefight’s release has not yet been confirmed, it is known that it will be with Season 5’s Mid-Season Update. The Mid-Season Update could possibly coincide with the Winter Contingency 3 update on December 19th, but it is not certain at this time. This update is also set to bring new equipment to the game, the repair field. Similar to theregeneration field inHalo 3, this new version heals vehicles as well as Spartans.Firefight is set to launch with dev-made maps as well as community-developed Forge maps, so there should be plenty of opportunity for some chaoticHalofun.
