There’s a new survival game calledGrand Emprisebeing developed that fans ofARK: Survival Evolvedmight be interested in. The game is themed around time travel and a good portion of the game’s Steam trailer shows some prehistoric dinosaur footage which evokes a similar feeling asARK: Survival Evolved.ARK: Survival Evolvedis a punishing survival game known for its difficulty and its dinosaurs. Players have to keep themselves fed and healthy in a wild biome filled with both herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs until they can build up a defensible base and start taming the local wildlife to help them conquer the wilderness. The game has been quite popular, and developer Studio Wildcard has begun production on a sequel and evenreleased a trailer forARK 2.RELATED:Here is How Much Sony Paid to Put Ark: Survival Evolved on PlayStation PlusUnlikeARK,Grand Emprisedoesn’t seem to focus exclusively on prehistoric survival and dinosaurs. The game description mentions dinosaurs, as well as castles and the industrial revolution, so it apparently will span a wide range of human history, and allow players to enjoy a variety of experiences within the survival game. The description also notes that there is crafting and base building, so it seems anyARKfans that try the game will be able to enjoy similar gameplay. It’s safe to assume, however, thatARK: Survival Evolvedhas more dinosaursthanGrand Emprisewill. As of now, there is no release date announced forGrand Emprise.
Grand Emprisedefinitely looks like it has potential, and is being built by a small indie developer who has apparently invested a lot of their time and personal funds into making the game. The scope of the game is quite ambitious, and even if it doesn’t manage to measure up toARK’s level of base building, there’s a good chance that players who enjoyARKwill have some fun withGrand Empriseas well.
The Steam page forGrand Emprisedoes look a bit incomplete at the moment, with some features containing question marks as placeholders. With no hard release date announced yet, however, there is plenty of time for the developer to get things more filled out and give players more information.ARKplayers are no strangers to game delays though, since there have been several instances of updates or game release delays, including when theARK: Ultimate SurvivorEditionSwitch version was delayed. Overall,Grand Emprisedefinitely seems like a game to keep an eye on.
