AGod of War Ragnarokfan created an impressive 1:1 scale of Kratos' Leviathan Axe. The axe was first introduced in 2018’sGod of War, and was Kratos' main weapon for the entire Norse chapter of the franchise.
Forged by dwarven blacksmiths Sindri and Brok, theLeviathan Axe was created to be an equivalent to Thor’s Mjolnir. Players could see how the two weapons stand against each other during Kratos' fight against Thor in the first half ofGod of War Ragnarok. The powerful axe can be upgraded throughout the game with the help of the dwarves, which changes its appearance as more attachments get added onto it.

In the past, craftyGod of Warfans have created life-sized versions of Kratos' weapons, such as theBlades of Chaos. The latest addition is thecraftingnerd’s 1:1 scale Leviathan Axe, which was made from carved wood and engraved metal. When asked how they made the size accurate, they explained that they used Kratos' height in the game to find just the right proportional scale to create the weapon’s template. The artist also admitted that they couldn’t remember how long it took them to create the whole thing, but said that the carving and shaping of the wooden handle took them around five days.
ManyGod of Warfans called the creation “incredible,” praising thecraftingnerd’s craftsmanship and attention to detail. One jokingly asked if the Leviathan Axe was Fimbullwinter-proof, which the artist said, “I’m sure it is.” Another asked what would happen if someone pressed triangle on their PlayStation controller, which is the button to press so Kratos can recall the axe. However, there’s also no indication on whether or not this replica is throwable.
SinceGod of War’s Norse era was first introduced in 2018, the Leviathan Axe had gotten the same iconic status as the Blades of Chaos, which were Kratos' original weapons of choice. So much so thatSony even dropped a massive Leviathan Axenear the London Eye, complete with glowing runes on the handle and blade.
WithGod of War Ragnarokbeing the final game in the Norse era, many fans are speculating on thenext mythology that Kratos and Atreus could be part of, citing the likes of Celtic and Aztec. Although Sony Santa Monica hasn’t detailed its plans forGod of Warand the direction it wants to take for future games, the franchise has already cemented itself in video game history with its award-winning titles.
