Atreus’ departure inGod of War Ragnarokopens the door for more adventures with the young God-in-training, and his voice actor would like to follow along with him as he grows older. Sunny Suljic, who voices and potrays Atreusin bothGod of War(2018) andGod of War Ragnarok, recently sat down with TheGamerfor an interview during the BAFTA Game Awards. One of the issues discussed was where future games could take Atreus, with Sulijic hoping to see him “grow into a man.” He notes that he’s grown up right alongside Atreus, and that he sees a lot of himself in the character he helped bring to life.

Sulijic also discussed the bond he shares with hisGod of War Ragnarokco-star Christopher Judge, who just won the BAFTA Award for Performer in a Leading Role. He noted that his relationship with Judge evolved in much the same way that Kratos and Atreus did, which made their shared onscreen moments all the more impactful. While Sulijic himself didn’t win any awards at last week’s event, he was nonetheless excited for both Judge and Laya DeLeon Hayes, who took home the award for Performer in a Supporting Role for her performance as Angrboda.

So far,God of Warplayers have watched Atreus growfrom a quiet child learning to survive in a dangerous world to a resourceful teen searching for his place in the world, and Sunny Suljic hopes to continue that journey by playing Atreus as he enters adulthood. Perhaps he can get his wish in a follow-up toGod of War Ragnarok, which could see Atreus step into his father’s role as a main protagonist in a brand-new setting, though developer Sony Santa Monica has yet to confirm anything to this effect.

God of War Ragnarokis available now on PS4 and PS5.
