ThoughGod of War: Ghost of Spartareleased over 10 years ago, the recent hype ofGod of War (2018)’s PC port release has fans of all the games talking. This has lead to fans looking back at the older games in the series, includingGod of War: Ghost of Sparta.
A day beforeGod of War (2018)’s PC release, one of these fans decided to create a tribute toGod of War: Ghost of Sparta, using its cover art to create an animation. Users absolutely loved theGod of Waranimation. Some of them commented congratulating KratosMemories for their effort, saying the animation combined with the music made for an amazing piece. Other users reminisced on the series' older titles, telling KratosMemories their animation and the menu music brought them a ton of nostalgia. Also, though KratosMemories said users could, others still asked if they could download and use the animation.
The attention to detail shown by KratosMemories can be seen when one looks back at the original cover for the game. Every element from the cover is present, but is highlighted in new ways. Kratos himself has been given movement, as have his clothes and chains. Light can also be seen crawling along the grooves of his swords. The foreground sees embers dancing across the screen, highlighting the chaotic, flame-covered, smoky background. Speaking of the background, the clouds and fire can be seen moving slightly, making the animation feel more alive.
TheGod of Warseries is alive and well after its most successful title ever in 2018 and a port of that title having just been released. However, KratosMemories created a nostalgic work of art for fans of the older games to enjoy asGod of Warheads away from its Greek roots. One thing for nostalgic fans to consider is letting the developers know how much they would love remakes or a return to Greece; what Kratos would return to fight is unclear, but with the franchise’s recent success, perhaps the developers will consider creating a tribute themselves.
