In this narrative-driven, third-person survival horror game set 300 years in the future, the player will take on the role of Jacob Lee – a victim of fate thrown into Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security penitentiary located on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. When inmates begin to transform into monstrous creatures, the prison is thrown into chaos. To survive, Jacob must battle his way to safety to escape Black Iron Prison, while uncovering the dark and disturbing secrets buried beneath the surface of Callisto. Using a unique blend of shooting and close-quarters combat, Jacob will need to adapt his tactics to combat the rapidly evolving creatures while scavenging to unlock new weapons, gear, and abilities to outrun the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter’s Dead Moon.

The Callisto Protocolis developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton of PUBG fame. The game is an action-based horror survival game set in the year 2320, where players control Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel)) from a third-person perspective. In the game, Jacob Lee’s ship crash lands on Callisto, one of the moons of Jupiter. He is incarcerated at the Black Iron Prison, only to wake up and find it overrun by inmates that have beeninfected by some sort of dangerous disease.

The zombie-like monstrosities known as biophages are everywhere, and the player needs to traverse the dangers of the prison and its diseased inhabitants. Jacob has a so-called C.O.R.E. implant on the back of his neck, which tracks his health. Health can be replenished with injecting packs found during the adventures. The combat system inThe Callisto Protocolfeatures melee with dodgingto find openings as well as weapons and firearms that are found in the prison. There are also timing-based encounters, which require specific buttons to be pressed to proceed.
The regular biophages range from simple fast zombies called Rushers to leeches, explosive mutants, and acid-spewing Spitters. The bosses, as one might imagine, are even more horrifying and dangerous mutations. The aim of the game is to find out what happened in the Black Iron Prison, escape alive, and hopefully bring along the people that haven’t been mutated.
