Madame Ping’s first appearance inGenshin Impactwas during the second act of Archon Chapter I in which she gives five Glaze Lilies to the Traveler. There is a lot of mystery around this character who used to be an Adeptus over 3,700 years before the game’s current timeline.

At the moment, there is a lot of hype around this Madame Ping as she appeared in one ofGenshin Impact’s recent story teasers named Echoes of the Heart. A Reddit user named AnilyanL has created an impressive concept that shows how would Madame Ping’s character screen look like if she ever joined the playable roster. The post reached over 1,300 upvotes with many players claiming that at first, they actually thought that this was a credible leak from future updates or even an official image. AnilyanL has confirmed that they will create another concept forMadame Ping’s best friend Guizhong, who was also featured in the story teaser.
The officialGenshin Impactstoryline has revealed that Madame Ping used to be an Adeptus that lived in the Guili Assembly which is an ancient civilization established by Morax, Marchosius, and Guizhong. Even though the Guili Assembly used to be extremely powerful, the civilization was destroyed duringthe great Archon War 2,000 years ago. The new story teaser revealed that Guizhong is one of the warriors who tragically lost their lives trying to defend the Assembly.
Madame Ping was one of the few Adepti survivors that made her way to Liyue Harbor where she currently resides. While most other Adepti askedthe Geo Archon Moraxto transform them into stone statues, Ganyu and Madame Ping remained in Liyue after the war.
Some comments have stated that it’s unfortunate that players probably won’t have the option to use Guizhong or the younger version of Madame Ping as playable characters. The only way this could happen is if HoYoverse decided to add time travel to the game which would not come as a huge surprise considering thatGenshin Impactis filled with characters that possess unnatural powers.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
