Genshin Impactruns on a tight update schedule which allows the game to add new characters to the playable roster every six to seven weeks. Each update has two separate banner cycles which introduce different sets of limited characters and weapons.
RecentGenshin Impactleaks have revealed that a brand-new major region by the name Sumeru will probably arrive in one of the upcoming updates. Each new nation that arrives to the game usually brings loads of new content which includes new playable characters.

A brand newGenshin Impactleak shows seven new characters that should arrive in the upcoming updates. The names of the characters from left to right are Tighnari, Collei, Dehya, Alhaitham, Nilou, Dori, and Kusanali. Out of those seven characters, three will apparently appear in the upcomingGenshin ImpactVersion 3.0. The only five-star character that will arrive on one of the update’s banners is Tighnari. When it comes to his unusual name, he is apparently based on an Arab scientist named Al-Tighnari which makes sense considering that each main nation in the game is based on a real-life location and Sumeru is rumored to be based on the Middle East.
As for his kit,Tighnari’s elemental skillallows him to drop a Dendro bomb that deals damage in a large area which puts enemies into a state of “Chaos.” While this field is active, Tighnari’s Level 2 Charged Attack takes less time to power up. His elemental burst allows him to “gather the power of all seeds” and fire deadly arrows at nearby enemies dealing Dendro damage. Once the arrows hit a target, the damage spreads to nearby opponents.
The second character that will appear in the update is another Dendro user named Collei. There is a lot of information about this new character since she was a part ofGenshin Impact’s official manga. Collei’s elemental skill will allows her to throw a boomerang that deals Dendro damage. Her elemental burst makes her drop a small mechanical cat sidekick that explodes, similar to Amber’s elemental skill. At the moment there are not a lot of information about the new character Dori, but she is expected to be a new Electro character.
The addition of a brand-new elemental type will probably have a significant impact on the game’s character meta.MultipleGenshin Impactleakshave already revealed two new elemental reactions tied with the new element. The first elemental reaction, Intensified, gives a simple damage buff once Electro and Dendro are combined. However, the second elemental reaction Overgrown is more complex, and it causes explosive seeds to drop on the ground once Dendro and Hydro are combined.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
