The officialGenshin Impactlivestream event has officially announced a new major region which should arrive in one of the upcoming updates. The new nation is named Sumeru, and it’s described as a mysterious land filled with magical rainforests and deserts, as well as the home of the popular Dendro Archon.
With the addition of a new main region, players are expecting loads of new characters to join the playable roster. RecentGenshin Impactleaks have already revealed that three new characters should arrive with the first Sumeru update. A credible leaker has revealed that players might receive a character and a four-star weapon for free in the foreseeable future.

One of the most popular leakers, GenshinBLANK, has revealed that the upcomingGenshin Impactupdate might grant a freefour-star character named Collei, as well as a new four-star bow. Collei is a popular character who played a significant role in the game’s manga series. The unique thing about Collei is the fact that she can use elemental powers without having a Vision. This unnatural power is probably the result of her being the subject of the Archon Residue research made by the Fatui.
PreviousGenshin Impactrumorshave already revealed that Collei will be a supportive bow character. According to recent leaks, her elemental skill will allow her to throw a boomerang that deals Dendro damage both as it deploys and on the return. Collei’s burst makes her throw a small mechanical cat sidekick that explodes causing AoE Dendro damage. After the explosion, the cat remains on the field dealing continuous AoE damage.
When it comes to the free weapon, it’s named Microwaved Fish, and it will apparently be obtainable for free by finishing one of the events. Assuming that recent rumors about 2.8 being the last version before the new major update are true,Genshin Impact3.0should arrive around mid-August. The majority of the community is understandably hyped about the new major region as it will introduce a brand-new element called Dendro.
This means that players will receive two free Dendro characters in update 3.0, including the new Dendro Traveler. The addition of a new element will have a huge impact on the current state of the game considering thatGenshin Impact’s combat systemrelies on triggering various elemental reactions. At the moment, leaks have revealed only two new elemental reactions, Overgrown and Intensified.
Genshin Impactis available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
