Over the last couple of months, numerous leaks have been giving more information about the Hydro nation and its position on the map. A new post on theGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit has given more info about Fontaine and how its size compares to the rest of the regions. The leak reveals the part of the map that will arrive inGenshin Impactversion 4.0which is expected to drop around mid-August, at least according to HoYoverse’s usual update schedule. Many fans in the comment section claim that they were expecting Fontaine to be much closer to the Liyue region, however, there is a high chance that this gap will be closed in future expansions.

According to most map leaks, Fontaine will consist of multiple islands that are filled with rivers which makes sense since it’s known as the Hydro nation. TherecentGenshin Impactteaser videoshave confirmed that the game will introduce a new diving mechanic which will allow players to go deep underwater. This led many players to believe that HoYoverse will allow them to go back and explore the underwater parts of the previously released regions.

For example, the City of Freedom is surrounded by the Cider Lake which is rumored to have a large underwater dungeon that could bepart of the long-awaited Mondstadt update. When it comes to new playable characters,Genshin Impact’s official social media accounts have already confirmed the arrival of three playable units, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet.

Lyney is expected to be the only new five-star characterinGenshin Impactupdate 4.0 while Lynette and Freminet are rumored to have a lower four-star rarity. At the moment, there is not a lot of credible info about their position on the Limited Character Banners, but it’s safe to assume that at least one new character will be featured in the first part of version 4.0

Genshin Impactis available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently under development.
