8Mass Effect 3 – 8
Players have accumulated multiple different companions during their time with theMass Effectfranchise. Gradually, this has all built up to players having the possible eight characters – technically seven due to one dying in the first game while the other lives – that are available on the Normandy duringMass Effect 3.
Although a player can’t have all eight follow them around during missions at the same time; having somany great companionsto decide from gives players enough variety to mix and match their team to best fit the purpose they need them to fulfill.

7Dragon Age: Inquisition – 9
Another game with plenty of party members created by BioWare isDragon Age: Inquisition. Many of the characters players can choose from are completely new to the franchise, while others like Varric and Cassandraappear once moreto aid the player. Once again, the Inquisitor cannot have all nine members follow them at once, and therefore they would need to select only three to take along with them.
What makesDragon Ageanother interesting title is the in-depth stories that every single companion has that allows the player to get to know them more. Not to forget mentioning that some of them even have a possible romance for the player to get involved in.

6Miitopia – 10
InMiitopiaplayers are free to create their own roster of characters to take on adventures with them. Allowing the player to not only create Miis that look identical to family or friends but also selecting a class for them to specialize in. 5Final Fantasy 6 – 14
Final Fantasy 6by far has the most playable characters or party members available to a player in the entire RPG franchise. Players are likely to meet every one of these characters on their adventures with two of them even being a secret that the player will need to uncover.
Some of these companions will even leave the player’s team occasionally where they will then once again need to be recruited. These may be the main roster of characters the player can have on their party, but there are still multiple other members thatcan be temporarily recruitedby the player.

4Baldur’s Gate 2 – 17
Baldur’s Gateis another RPG franchise with plenty of companions for the player to uncover during their adventures. As a player can have a party of six during their adventures inBaldur’s Gate 2, there is a large variety of interesting characters both in the base game and the expansions for players to get to know.
Each of these companions will require the player to first complete a quest for them to gain their loyalty before they will decide to follow the player into battle. Naturally, these characters also have their own morals that a player will need to be considerate of when making decisions with certain characters in the party.

3Skyrim – 66
Unlike other games mentioned,Skyrimhas countless followers for a player to recruit, though they can only have one of them following them at a time. While some of thesefollowers carry more valuethan others, such as gaining their services through competing a quest line, others can simply be purchased in Inns for the right amount of gold.
2Suikoden – 108
The main purpose ofSuikodenis collecting a large party of characters even though a player can only have a party of six people at a time. While there are countless party members available to the player, they don’t need to worry about collecting every single one of them unless they are planning ongetting a certain ending.
Once again similar toFinal Fantasy 6, some of these party members may only be temporarily available to the character or only used in certain major battles; these still make them valid companions that the player may wish to pursue at certain points of their pixel adventure inSuikoden.

1Dragon’s Dogma – Countless
Out of all the games that allow players to have companions, Capcom’sDragon’s Dogmaexcels against all other titles through the variety of companions – better known as Pawns – in this hack and slash RPG title. While the player can only make one Pawn, which is their most loyal companion, they can proceed to recruit two more that have been created by other players of the title.
As a player may assume, over the years with more players enjoyingDragon’s Dogma, this has led toplenty more Pawnsbecoming available; some of them even carry an immense amount of power with them that a player will want to take advantage of.
