There are new features that won’t be a surprise to longtime sim-racing fans, but may be an annoyance to more casual players. Every race inForza Motorsportnow begins with a practice session. Players can use this practice time to their advantage in the upcoming race, but it isn’t necessary. Here are the advantages of playing through practice sessions, and how players can skip them if they wish.

Practice Sessions
At the beginning of each race, players will start out parked in the pit lane for practice sessions. Here, they can set up their car andadjust the difficulty settings.Press on start practice to head out onto the track. There will be two objectives during the session: completing three laps, and getting under a set lap time. Fans can use this time to learn the feel ofthe track and its corners.
Players gain experience for doing well during track segments. Driving around the track also nets experience points for theparticular car the player is driving.Leveling up cars is important, as it allows the player to purchase more upgrades and parts for their favorite machine. Players can also try out pit stops in preparation for some of the longer races that require refueling or changing tires. Completing three laps will start a 10-minute timer for the remainder of practice. Press right on the D-pad to finish the session or left to restart once the ten-minute timer has begun.
How to Skip Practice Sessions
Players looking for a more casual experience or who already know a track can skip these sessions. As of launch players still need to start each practice session to get to the race. Once practice has started, press thepause button.Scroll down to the “Exit” option and click on it. This will give the option to restart, quit event, or skip practice. Press"Skip Practice,“and the game will ask one more time if the player is sure. Press the “Yes” option to get straight to the race.
