Fortnite’s storyline started solidifying around Chapter 1 Season 4, and since then, it has only gotten more and more complex. Over this time, some characters established themselves as iconic, and Midas is undoubtedly one of them.
Midas first appeared inFortnitein Chapter 2 Season 2. Players who purchased the Battle Pass could unlock the Midas skin byreaching Level 100 inFortnite. Since then, he has emerged many times and Epic Games has even come up with several Midas variants for fans who wanted to see more of the infamous gold-covered man.

7Icebound Midas
Part of the Black Ice Set
The Frozen Legends pack was a success when it was released back in 2018, and it led to the creation of several more ice-themed cosmetics inFortnite. Many fan-favorite skins, such as Peely and Midas, got a frozen variant.Peely’s frozen variant, Polar Peely, looks awesome, and Icebound Midas is not half-bad either.
The icy-white eyes are quite menacing and the frozen details on his outfit look stunning. However, compared to all of the Midas cosmetics available inFortnite, this one isn’t as memorable as the others, and gamers have to spend a considerable amount of V-Bucks to get it.

6Golden Gear Midas
Part of the Anime Legends Set
Golden Gear Midas is part of the Anime Legends pack, alongside Ricochet Rox, and Ready Penny. This Midas variant isn’t reactive and won’t gradually turn gold with more eliminations. However, it has an additional style with its helmet on.
If we compare it to theprice of a V-Bucks Card, $19.99 is worth 2,800 V-Bucks. It doesn’t sound like much when it comes to Item Shop cosmetics because it includes three skins, but unless gamers like the other skins included in the Anime Legends packs, Golden Gear Midas isn’t worth its price tag.

5Midsummer Midas
Part of the Undercover Summer Set
Midsummer Midas is the right skin for the hotter months of the year. EveryFortnitehosts a summer event riddled with quests and freebies, and if gamers want their skin to be in sync with the atmosphere, Midsummer Midas is a great choice.
The 1,600 V-Bucks price tag on Midsummer Midas isn’t that bad, especially considering players can toggle customizations on and off and dress him up according to their preferences. Midsummer Midas can have his jacket and glasses on or off. Additionally, gamers can also enable or disable his reactive gold effect.

4Midas Rex
Part of the Last Laugh Set
In order to obtain Midas Rex inFortnite, gamers have toacquire The Last Laugh bundle, which features two skins from the DC Series: The Joker and Poison Ivy. The Last Laugh bundle is perfect for DC fans who want to get cool cosmetics based on their favorite characters, but if that wasn’t enough, they also get an awesome Midas skin on top of that.
Midas looks particularly tough in his full helmet gear, but if gamers want to show off the face behind the mask, they can select the default Midas Rex style.

3Shadow Midas
Part of the ShadeChaser Set
Shadow Midas came out during Chapter 2 Season 8, a few seasons following the release of the original Midas skin. This is one of the most underrated Midas skins out there, as gamers won’t see it very often when playingFortnite.
Players who missed out on Midas when it was available should consider the Shadow Midas skin, as it is equally as elegant, but features a dark and more mysterious reactive effect - the purple shadows that surround it.

2Ascendant Midas
Part of the Golden King Set
Ascendant Midas was released during Chapter 5 Season 2,FortniteMyths & Mortals, a Greek mythology-inspired season. This variant of Midas fit into the lore of the season and had one of the most interesting stories to tell.
Midas was locked in a cell in Hade’s Underworld but managed to escape, thus creating the Ascendant Midas persona, theultimate golden king inFortnite. This skin can turn gold, but it also has a “Shade” style, which gives it an Underworld Dash-like effect.

1Midas
Part of the Golden Ghost Set
The OG Midas skin takes the top spot on this list, as it is hard to beat the king himself. Midas has various select style options but his classic look has become iconic, so that is what most players tend to stick with. Regardless, they can choose between the default style, Golden Agent, or Team GHOST and Team SHADOW styles, depending on what they chose back in Chapter 1.
Unfortunately, gamers who didn’t complete theChapter 2 Season 2 Battle Passwhen it was live have no way to obtain the Midas skin.
