The storefront’s website kept crashing due to the sheer volume of users trying to access it and place pre-orders, and the problems lasted over several hours. However, one of the most anticipated updates aboutDawntrailthat will likely be brought up is the PC benchmark for the expansion. Given thatFinal Fantasy 14will have its first major graphical updatewhen Dawntrail launches in early access on June 28, the benchmark will give players a free tool to gauge what parts of their PCs need to be upgraded to play the expansion, and a way to preview how their characters will look with the updated graphics. In past expansions such asEndwalker, a benchmark was released exclusively for Windows a few months before launch.
It remains to be seen how Yoshida will talk aboutDawntrail’s graphics update during the Live Letter portion of the broadcast. With the Live Letter andtheFinal Fantasy 16crossover eventnow slated for April,Final Fantasy 14players will have more to look forward to soon.
