However, players confirmed that other methods such as Amazon Pay and PayPal will work until the ongoing payment issues are resolved.
While the payment issues withFinal Fantasy 14are ongoing, some players will soon see their subscription feeds get a price increase.According to Square Enix,Final Fantasy 14subscriptions and related purchases of digital goods,such as Fantasia potions, will be subject to state or local sales tax in places throughout the US that collect tax on them. This change will go into effect on Tuesday, June 25. Sales tax will also apply to the Crysta currency used to fundFinal Fantasy 14subscriptions and will match the fees already in place on platforms such as Steam and Xbox. Some players who live in states such as California, which has tax exemption laws for digital goods, or states like Oregon which do not collect sales tax, will not see their subscriptions change.

The changes will take hold three days beforeFinal Fantasy 14: Dawntraillaunches in early access. Any purchases made forFinal Fantasy 14following June 25 will include the estimated sales tax based on the buyer’s address when a purchase is made. Square Enix then requested players to confirm any relevant account information to avoid any incorrect charges that could occur afterward.
Between the upcoming changes to payments andthe newFinal Fantasy 14free login campaign, the news cycle continues to give players plenty to chew on. How smoothly the implementation of sales tax will go remains to be seen.
