FIFA 22is now just around one month away from being released. AfterEA Sports released the official reveal trailerback in July, fans have now been treated to a full one-on-one match between two esports pros to showcase exactly how the game will play on the next-generation consoles.
FIFA 22has a lot to live up to asFIFA 21’s gameplay came under a lot of criticism for feeling exactly the same as the previous year’s edition. This has been a common theme and issue when it comes to yearly releases of EA’s sports titles asMadden NFL 2021came under similar criticism. However, with the introduction ofFIFA’s new Hypermotion Technology, this first look match gave EA Sports a chance to showcase what they believe to be a huge change in how the game feels as well as its improved realism.

In terms of the match itself, it took place on September 2 onFIFA 22and was contested between Tekkz, aFIFAesports player for Fnatic, and Tom, anotherFIFAesports player who plays for Hashtag United. Hashtag Tom started proceedings the better of the two by scoring two beautifully placed finesse shots early in the game. Hashtag Tom mentioned soon after he had heard finesse shots were particularly effective in this year’s game from his sources, and he was certainly not wrong in his assessment. Tekkz did manage to get a goal back after a perfectly timed counterattack from defending a corner, but it was not enough as Tom came out the victor in this showcase match.
The full match has given fans an opportunity to obtain more information to add to what EA Sports have already announced on the run-up toFIFA 22’s release. As well as unveiling the ability to create a club in theFIFA 22Career Modetrailer,FIFA 21recently releasedFIFA 22Pre-Season content where users can omplete challenges inFIFA 21Ultimate Team to earn rewards withinFIFA 22.
With two trailers,FIFA 22Pre-Season challenges, and a full match now revealed, fans will no doubt be chomping at the bit to get their hands on the new came after being drip-fed these tiny glimpses into what the future holds for theFIFAfranchise. Thankfully, those with EA Play Early Access will be able to access the game on Wednesday, September 22.
FIFA 22launches on October 1 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
