In many ways,Far Cry 6’s post-launch content has been compelling in a way that the main game was heavily criticized for. Three different DLCs were announced as part ofFar Cry 6’s DLC, each starring a previous game’s villain. Two of those DLCs have since been released, the first withFar Cry 3’s Vaas Montenegro, the second withFar Cry 4’s Pagan Min. The third, starringFar Cry 4’s Joseph Seed, is still on the way. Ubisoft has now confirmed whenFar Cry 6players can expect to play it.In an announcement made on Twitter, Ubisoft confirmed thatFar Cry 6’s third villains DLC, Joseph: Collapse, will launch on February 8. Like theVaas Montenegroand Pagan Min DLCs, Joseph: Collapse will employ a unique rogue-like structure in which players collect items, power-ups, and a currency named Penance. If the player dies, they restart the DLC without any of the items that they’ve acquired up to that point.RELATED:Far Cry 6 Update Adds Rambo DLC to the GameWhat makes Joseph: Collapse particularly intriguing, however, is that it appears to be the culmination of a massive meta-story spanning all the majorFar Cryreleases sinceFar Cry 3. The Pagan Min DLC even ended with a tie-in toFar Cry 5and Joseph’s death cult.Far Cryfans will be anxiously awaiting the DLC to see if it has deeper ties toFar Cry 6’s story, or any other potential revelations.
For the time being,Joseph: Collapseis the last confirmed premium DLC expansion forFar Cry 6. That doesn’t mean Ubisoft doesn’t have other plans for premium DLC, or that it may change those plans, but for the time beingFar Cry 6players should consider this the end of planned premium post-launch content. Ubisoft may even be ready to announce a newFar Crygame is in development.
While this is the end of premium DLC forFar Cry 6, there’s still free DLC that’s been announced as part ofFar Cry 6’s roadmap. Just two days ago, Ubisoft added its promisedRamboDLC forFar Cry 6. Beyond that, there are also plans for a crossover mission tied toNetflix’sStranger Things. It was announced for March but could arrive earlier.
As for Joseph: Collapse,Far Cry 6players can play the DLC starting February 8. It will be available to everyone who has purchasedFar Cry 6’s Season Pass. For those who haven’t purchased the Season Pass, Ubisoft is discounting it 25%. Ubisoft is also discounting bundles of the baseFar Cry 6game with the Season Pass up to 40% off.
Far Cry 6is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
