For a few weeks now,Epic Games Storehas been giving away free mystery games week after week. This has led to several big releases, includingBorderlands 3andtheBioShock Collectionon Epic Games Store. However, all good things come to an end.

Epic Games Storehas confirmed its final mystery game to be Maneater, which will be available from now until June 16, coinciding with the end of the Epic Mega Sale. This means that Epic Games Store is returning to its pattern of releasing a game and revealing the next week’s free game. For EGS, this means Supraland will replace Maneater on June 16, lasting until June 23.

Maneateris exactly what it sounds like, agame where players take on the role of a shark. Interestingly enough, though, it incorporates RPG elements and players are able to “age up” their shark and develop several new abilities.Maneateris noBioShock Collection, but it’s a solid game for the lineup.

Supraland, meanwhile, is billed as a first-person Metroidvania puzzle game, which directly citesZelda, Metroid, andPortalas inspirations. Players will focus less on story and combat and more so on the sense of exploration, offering players roughly 12-25 hours worth of gameplay. The abilities also promise to be versatile, letting players use them in a ton of ways, with even more potential when combined.

While the past few games have been huge AAA titles, the end of the mystery games suggestsEpic Games Store will return to its focus on smaller games and indies. That may disappoint some, but it works well for Epic Games Store, as it puts out more hidden gems that others may look over. Of course, the year is about halfway over, and there’s no telling what Epic Games Store will do next. It typically releases quite a few mystery games for the holidays, but if that’s the next time it will do so is anyone’s guess.

In the meantime, players can expect a return to normal for Epic Games Store, but if the past few weeks have proven anything, it’s just how resourceful Epic Games Store can be and how much it brings to the table for users. There’s certainly acase to be made for Epic Games Store to keep the mystery game reveals up, even if they’re not AAA titles, but as the old saying goes, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
