AnElden Ringfan awaiting a hoodie themed after the open-world title was left understandably disappointed upon its arrival. Given the popularity ofElden Ring, it is unsurprising that merchandise inspired by the game has found its way onto store shelves, but sadly not every item on offer matches FromSoftware’s quality.
One of the main collectibles that Tarnished flesh out their inventory with is armor. Whether they be helmets, boots, gloves, or chest plates, anyone playingElden Ringfor a decent amount of time will inevitably have a wardrobe able to compete with the most stylish of celebrities. Over time much of the FromSoftware community has deemed the trueendgame to not be New Game +7 nor challenge runs, but fashion. Clever builds and memorable amalgamations of unique garments helped provide titles likeDark Souls 3the longevity they have enjoyed.

So it naturally follows that merchandise from FromSoftware’s realms would be desired commodities. However, whileElden Ringhas established itself as a masterpiece, the same cannot be said for a hoodie received by Redditor Valker902. A painful image captures them with outstretched arms,Elden Ring’s famous cover artwrapping around it entirely. The wordsElden Ringwere no doubt supposed to be emblazoned just below the hood but, with the first and last letters cut off, it merely reads “LDEN RIN.”
The missing E and G can be seen on the sleeves, but not in any position that would salvage the travesty. Although some offered their sympathy, most comments understandably authored inspired lines of mockery and wit such as “upon my name as [Godfrey], the first lden lord.” A silver lining is that Elden still sounds as it is intended to without the E, but the same cannot be said the same for Ring.Godfrey would have been a significantly less intimidatingand compelling enemy had every spoken line left out two letters.
Fortunately,Elden Ringis now a massive IP that does not find itself limited to botched hoodie designs and neither is it bound only to Bandai Namco’s store. Original projects have been undertaken by thousands across the world, with figurines and item replicas being some of the most popular creations. 2022’s conclusion saw one artist construct afantastic diorama of the Radahn Festivalwhich even featured Patches infamously running away from the fight if summoned.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
