Despite all official news regardingElden Ringceasing since its 2019 reveal trailer, the next FromSoftware game remains one of the most anticipated titles in the industry. There is no greater proof of this than the recent reaction of players to the tiniest bit ofElden Ringnews, as players have freaked out over the small teaser.

As part of a Twitter thread discussingSekiro’s new Game of the Year content, FromSoftware made a minor mention ofElden Ringthat has caused the internet to lose its collective mind. Within the tweet, the studio simply said that it “greatly appreciate[s] all the enthusiasm and support shown” forElden Ring, with fans having filled the thread with questions as to where the game is. FromSoft hopes fans “look forward” to more info on the “Dark Fantasy Action RPG,” something that plenty of players have already been doing.

FromSoftware breaking its silence onElden Ringis certainly some good news, but fans may have gone a bit overboard. One player’s response to the Twitter update says that “this should keep us going for another three years,” a comment that reads as only a partial joke. KevnBlack follows up with a hilarious response that suggests the making of “10 things you missed in thisElden Ringtweet,” another legitimate possibility given the extreme hype of the community.

Still, with players havingwaited over 500 days for anElden Ringupdate, the excitement over this short FromSoft post is understandable. What is a bit less understandable, however, is some of the random posts that entered the subreddit. For example, one user simply put a meme face and a wall of text with the word “OH,” and players seemed to understand clearly what was being said. Beyond that, numerous memes were created, some of which are seriously funny and fit the situation perfectly.

One such meme sees theElden RingTwitter being there for sad men, while another sees hilarious drawings of gamers freaking out over the tiny shred of news. The meme only gets funnier when regular gamers are compared to FromSoft fans, as the notoriously tight-lipped studio’s followers are extremely self-aware about how they are acting. With a heavily edited clip of the showCommunityrounding out the list of random memes, it would be great toseeElden Ringreference the community responsewhenever the game finally launches.

For FromSoftware fans that cannot stand the information drought any longer, though, the release ofDemon’s Soulson PS5should help kill the time until the next update. Whenever the next update comes, regardless of how minuscule it is, Soulsborne fans will likely be just as excited as they were for this new tweet.

Elden Ringis currently in development and its confirmed platforms are PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
