Don’t let anyone doubt that Aiden can become a total beast inDying Light 2. At first, he’s an embarrassment, hurting himself on falls that elementary school kids can shrug off. he’s unable to hang onto a wall for more than a few seconds. Climbing wall amateurs will laugh at his pathetic attempts.

But with the right skills, Aiden suddenly turns into a classic parkour master, capable of feats that no reasonable human being would dare try. SinceDying Light 2gives out skill points like they weigh a metric ton, players will need to get only the most important skills first.
10High Jump
This might be the first skill in the tree, so it seems like a no-brainer, but hold that thought for a moment. After watching streamer after streamer fail to shuffle up a rooftop or leap over a chasm, it’s becoming much more clear that not enough players are actually using High Jump.
There is a lot to love and hate aboutDying Light 2, but if players don’t learn to use their High Jump over their regular jump more often, they’ll probably be putting the game down before getting into the main story.

9Safe Landing
Ideally, players would like to stay on the rooftops until it is necessary to go down to the streets andvisit some of Aiden’s friends(and enemies). The buildings are so far apart, though, that going from rooftop to rooftop is only possible in a few situations.
Some of these rooftops are high up and going down the slow way is time-consuming and eats Aiden’s stamina. Speed matters in many critical missions, so Aiden being able to jump, not take damage, and get up and running is a sizable advantage for a single skill.

8Firm Grip
There are countless moments in the game where Aiden leaps across a gap and barely snags onto the edge. But before he has the Firm Grip skill, this means, he’ll eventually plummet downward. It has gamers calling for this to befixed, among other problems with the game.
Thankfully, the perk is easy to get and is available as the second selection. It comes highly recommended as many of the necessary traversals that the game demands are simply not possible without Firm Grip. Aiden feels like a rather weak hero without it.

7Fast Climb
As another early pick, Dying Light 2 is almost impossible to complete without Fast Climb. Flat out, stamina drains at a ridiculously rapid pace while scaling walls, to the point where Aiden is a total joke. Even with this perk, he lacks the stamina of an average rock wall climber.

While the skill does need to be beefed up, it’s still one of the best in the tree. There are many secret areas that require a lot of climbing and Aiden can’t reach them without Fast Climb. More secret areas mean more loot, that’s always a positive.
6Double Jump
Alright, so Aiden has had to spend a few points just to be average. But there are a few superhuman abilities that he gets. And Double Jump is one that is so good, no human alive can pretend to do it. Another jump in midair is the stuff of video game legends.
The second jump must be done right after takeoff, so Aiden can’t, for example, stop himself from hitting the ground with another jump before impact. But in a game where movement is this important, Double Jump allows Aiden to reach the previously unreachable.

5Dart
With skill points so hard to come by inDying Light 2, the best skills are the ones with the most utility. If players are only getting one point after double-digit hours of gaming, that point better be special. No skill gives more bang for the buck than Dart.
It makes the player faster. It allows them to jump higher and further. And it gives them the ability to run on walls for longer. Yes, wall running can eventually be in Aiden’s wheelhouse and it’s just as awesome as it sounds, but it’s short-lived unless he picks up Dart to go with it.

4Crowd Runner
To realize the value of Crowd Runner, gamers must first accept a fundamental difference between chase scenes in most games/movies and chase scenes inDying Light 2. Standard running scenes have the runner just ahead of the chaser.
In this game, Aiden’s pursuers are coming from every angle. And until he gets Crowd Runner, the enemies in front will stop him in his tracks. Evenmastering weapon modscan’t do enough damage before he’s overwhelmed. Crowd Runner allows Aiden to charge through these opponents.

3Tic Tac
Wall Running is amazing in general. Players will remember the feeling in games likeTitanfallwhere running on walls just worked right. And it works right here, too. The only difference is that players can only make it happen by investing a skill point into Tic Tac.

Players familiar with that game might be skeptical of that fact because the wall running in that game seemed to go for longer than humanly possible. Aiden does the same here, too, able to wall run and cross gaps that are otherwise impossible to bridge.
2Wall Run
Wall Run might sound a lot like Tic Tac, but they are assuredly different things. Tic Tac is about going horizontally across a vertical surface. Wall Run goes straight up a vertical surface. Aiden can get part way up a surface that has no grips on it at all near the bottom.
Once again, this expands the places Aiden can go. But even for those who aren’t thrillseeking, consider that this is much faster than the classic High Jump to get up a flat area. Those who aren’t looking to lose their speed while going over surfaces will love Wall Run.

1Wall Combo
It should come as no surprise that one of the best skills in the game allows players to use Tix Tac and Wall Run consecutively without touching the ground. By rotating between the two, players can essentially fly so long as they have a flat surface to do it on.
This comes in very handy in enclosed areas where a doorway is high above. Aiden can run along, then up, then along, then up, and so on until he reaches the top. This is especially handy toward the end of the game, where fighting up to the top of a building gets laborious.

Dying Light 2was released on February 4th, 2022, and is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
