Pre-ordering the Standard Edition ofDoom Eternal,one of the most anticipated games of 2020, will grant various Pre-Order bonuses, but choosing which retailer to purchase it from has some nuances. To start, ordering the standard digital or physical versions ofDoom Eternalon Steam, Bethesda’s website, Amazon and other retailers and digital outlets will grant buyers a digital download of the classic hitDoom 64, and the Rip and Tear Pack.
This comes with the Doot Revenant Skin, and a Cultist Base Master Level which offers a “remixed” version of the game’s campaign level entitled “Cultist Base” with new surprises. Finally, pre-orderingDoom Eternalincludes a retro skincomprising the Throwback Shotgun Weapon Skin. It will likely resembleDoom’sclassic shotgun appearance and aesthetics. If price is a priority, there may be some extra incentive to purchase the physical standard edition ofDoom Eternalfrom Amazon or Walmart, however.
Doom Eternalis currently around $10 cheaperat at those retailers, than elsewhere, at just $49.94 for the standard physical edition, but this offer may not last long. If gaining exclusive pre-order content is one’s priority, even if just a little, then Amazon’s website may be the best place for purchase of the physical copy. It comes with the Amazon-Exclusive Bonus controller skin for your PS4 or Xbox One controller. For PC players, it will come with a skin that fits the PC-compliant standard Xbox Controller', since that is the standard plug-and-play gaming controller for the Windows operating system, given that they are both Microsoft products.
What About Stadia?
Doom Eternal Multiplayer
Doom Eternal’sonline multiplayer, simply entitled “Battlemode,” will offer asymmetric warfare in the form of 2 versus 1 experiences, andDoom Eternalwill not have microtransactions. Its asymmetric gameplay has a unique twist, however. Unlike most asymmetric multiplayer games in which one player takes control of a monster or vicious killer of some form, while other players control humans or foot-soldiers of a sort,Doom Eternal’sBattlemode will instead put the majority of players in the role of demons, while only one player controls the nearly-unstoppable Doom Slayer.
Each demon will have different methodologies of movement and tactics, and will be lightning fast on all sides ofDoom Eternal’smultiplayer. The demon team of two will also be able to deploy other AI-controlled demons against the Doom Slayer to make that player more vulnerable to their tactics.
Doom Eternal’sBattlemodewill include six different arenas at launch. Players will enter combat in a best-of-five matches, and five demons will be available to choose from at launch. This includes the Revenant, Mancubus, Archvile, Pain Elemental, and Marauder.
