The Glittering Dunes is a desert-themed biome inDisney Dreamlight Valley’sA Rift in Timeexpansion as a landscape with ancient structures, sandy hilltops, and quicksand-like sandfishing.Unlocking all areas in the Glittering Dunesis also necessary to progress with Jafar’s main story quest and to continue with friendship quests set by Gaston.
In total, there are four areas to unlock within the Glittering Dunes, beginning with the Plains. However, some players might wonder how they unlock The Plains and the rest of the map areas within the sandy biome. While time-consuming, unlocking all Glittering Dunes map areas is pretty straightforward once players know how to.
How To Unlock The Glittering Dunes
The Glittering Dunesis a map biome area that players canunlock by completingThe Sands in the Hourglass questandusing 2,000 Mist to fix the broken bridge. Doing so unlocks fixes it, unlocking the first area within the Glittering Dunes called The Plains, plus enabling players to reach the first part of Wild Tangle. However, there are also severalmore map areas within the Glittering Dunes for players to unlock.
How To Unlock All Glittering Dune Areas
The Glittering Dunes contains three more areas to unlockacross Eternity Isle’s map, all of which require players toget Mist fastto unlock them as quickly as possible, as detailed below:
The Oasis
The western part of the Glittering Runes is a map area calledThe Oasis, which players can unlock by collecting6,000 Mistandinteracting with the swirling sand blocking the way at the bottom of the stairs to the left of The Plains, as pictured below. Once players unlock The Oasis, they can harvest foraging resources like Cactoberries, which only grow there,fish for Duneboppers, Prisma Shrimp, and more.
The Wastes
The Wastes is an area in the Glittering Dunes that players must reach to completeDiamond in the Roughwhere they can find the Cave of Wonders. However,to unlock the Wastes, players must obtain 4,000 Mist and interact with one of two swirling sand blockades in front of Gaston’s shipwreckas highlighted on the map below, which uses the power of the Hourglass to unlock the area.
The Borderlands
The Borderlandsis the last area to open in the Glittering Dunes, costing10,000 Mistto unlock. However, unlocking The Borderlines is necessary to completeYour Eternal Reward.
Players canunlock The Borderlands at one of three possible entrance points,with one located near the pillars in The Plains and the remaining ones on the west side of Wild Tangle.Unlocking one of these entry points unlocks all of them, so it doesn’t matter which one players choose.
