Now, the official Discord blog unveiled a new feature forXboxplayers: streaming Xbox games directly to Discord. Owners of Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles will be able to share their screens in real-time with friends using Discord when utilizing the feature soon. At the moment, however, the option is only available for participants of the Xbox Insiders program. Regular users will still need to wait before they can try out this feature, which Discord affirmed will happen “soon.”
To gain access to this functionality, Xbox Insiders members (and later anyone else) should firstconnect their Discord and Xbox accounts. They can do so by going to “User Settings” and then “Connections” on the Discord desktop app and then clicking on the Xbox logo. After that, when playing, all they need to do is press the Xbox button, open “Parties & Chats,” pick Discord, and stream the game on a channel in which they already participate. Discord Nitro members will be able to stream games in higher quality, with up to 1080p resolution and high framerates.
Discord is adding several features in 2023. Another recent change that the platform had in the last few months was tostart using ChatGPT on all Discord servers, following the worldwide trend of using machine learning-based generative technology to make their users’ lives easier. The company has been testing a program called Clyde AI, which allows users to search images and playlists on servers. At the same time, Discord also unveiled a new functionality called Conversation Summaries, which provides users with condensed summaries of previous conversations. In today’s blog post, Discord even hinted that there may be more updates for Xbox gamers coming soon, so console owners should follow future developments to know what is going to be offered.
