Even with The Dawning still available at the Tower, the holiday content drought is close to coming to an end. As detailed inthe original Season of Dawn calendar, the next weekly reset is bringing the Legendary version of the Sundial toDestiny 2. Not only does this version crank up the difficulty, it also removes matchmaking completely. Interested Guardians will need to form up in a fireteam prior to taking part in the new Sundial version.

For those who may not want to test their mettle, Bungie is also adding in a brand new exotic quest for season pass owners. The prize for clearing this quest is theexotic sidearm known as Devil’s Ruin, a weapon that may remind a few players of the plasma pistol from theHaloseries. The main reason for this comparison is its perk called Closed the Gap which lets players fire normal shots or hold the trigger to fire a charged up laser blast. Not only does the fully charged shot work well against unstoppable champions, the magazine is refilled from reserves.

Where is Xur?

Xur has returned to Destiny 2 and can be found hiding out in his usual cave on Io.

Fast travel to the location near Giant’s Scar and immediately head through the building into the area with the large drill in the center. Head left through the gate and follow the edges of the zone to the top left corner of the map where Xur is hiding in a cave.

Class Armor

Keep in mind thatthe Armor 2.0 updatehas caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Sanguine Alchemy - Warlock chest

For Warlocks, Xur has brought the Sanguine Alchemy, chest armor that focuses on using rifts. Its intrinsic perk, Heightened Senses, gives the player and teammates standing inside the rift the ability to continue using the radar even when aiming down the sights. In addition, nearby powerful enemies are visually marked and are easier to track even without line of sight.

Being able to continue using the radar even when aiming down the sights of a weapon is always a good thing, though unlike the Mida Multi-Tool or the Hunter’s Knucklehead Radar, this ability can only be used in an active rift so it’s not always available. There are much better exotics for Warlocks, though this one certainly isn’t the worst to have in certain game modes like the Crucible or when running strikes.

St0MP-EE5 - Hunter boots

The popular Stompees are back in stock with Xur this weekend for Hunters. Subclass neutral, these boots are extremely good for elevating player movement. Its intrinsic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, increase player sprint speed and slide distance. In addition, this exotic further improves High Jump, Strafe Jump, and Triple Jump.

Considering how valuable these boots are for platforming segments in raids, exotic quests like Whisper of the Worm, and other PvE contents, the St0MP-EE5 boots should absolutely be apart of any Hunter’s armor rotation.

Dunemarchers - Titan boots

After a one week hiatus, the Dunemarchers are back in stock for Titan players. Unfortunately, nothing much has changed since they were last on sale. Linear Actuators increase the player’s sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies.

Ultimately, these are a fun exotic to mess around with though their actual utility may vary from person to person. Still, they’re worth picking up for those who don’t have them as they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses like bottom tree Striker or middle tree Sunbreaker.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Exotic Weapon

The controversial Lord of Wolves shotgun is up for grabs this week. Earlier in the summer, this shotgun was dominating the Crucible thanks to a favorable glitch that made the gun completely overpowered thanks to generous ammo, increased range, and an incredibly fast rate of fire. In fact, Bungie createda special triumph and emblem to commemorateplayers who lived through the chaos. While the gun isn’t near that same level of overpowered, it is still a very strong weapon that may have gotten a little stronger unintentionally. With plenty of shotgun related quests active, such as the Python pinnacle Gambit weapon as well as an Iron Banner quest step, Lord of Wolves is definitely worth a purchase this week for those who don’t have it.

Its Intrinsic perk is called Shrapnel Launcher which causes the gun to fire a powerful short-range burst of solar damage. However, its trait called Release the Wolves is what really enhances this weapon’s potency. Players that hold the reload button can swap to a longer, more powerful burst. Again, pick this weapon up.
