An Exotic rocket launcher all the way back from season 4, theTwo-Tailed Foxhas been in dire need of love for a long time. Luckily, thanks to the many reworks Bungie implemented to older Exotic weapons,Two-Tailed Foxhas risen as an option inDestiny 2’searly Lightfall meta, even if it can’t quite contend withsome Legendary rocket launchers.

TheTwo-Tailed Foxcomes with a Catalyst, which makes this already unique rocket launcher even more interesting. The weapons basically received a bunch of subclass 3.0 keywords to further enhance its capabilities, and its Catalyst does just that as well. Here’s how players can earn the Catalyst inDestiny 2and what exactly it brings forth.

How To Get TheTwo-Tailed FoxRocket Launcher

As an older Exotic, theTwo-Tailed Foxis occasionally sold by Xurwhen he appears on Fridays every week, andit can also drop randomly as an Exotic engram in the world. This makes it quite difficult to come by naturally. It can’t be bought from the Monument to Lost Lights.

TheTwo-Tailed Foxwill shoot two rockets (Twintailsperk). Its Void rocket deals suppression to enemies, while the Solar rocket burns targets over time (Play With Your Preyperk).

How To Get TheTwo-Tailed FoxCatalyst

Unfortunately, the Catalyst forTwo-Tailed Foxonly drops randomly from playlist activities. This includes Crucible matches, Vanguard Strikes of all difficulty levels, and Gambit matches. As such, it’s going to take potentially a very long time before players can hope to get their hands on it. Good luck and persistence are key when farming forthese types of Catalysts.

Once players earn the Catalyst, it requires 350 kills in order to be upgraded and slotted into the weapon. Considering the fact that theTwo-Tailed Foxis a heavy weapon, the best way to farm these kills is to hit the Shuro-Chi checkpointin Last Wishwith a handful of rally banners to replenish heavy ammo in-between rounds. This is by far the best farming method for heavy weapons.

What TheTwo-Tailed FoxCatalyst Does

The Third Tail perk is an interesting one, making it somewhat worth it to farm theTwo-Tailed Foxcatalyst in the first place. Since subclass keywords like jolt, suppress, and scorch/ignition are so powerful as ofLightfall, thanks to their anti-champion and crowd control capabilities, having three subclass effects packed in one heavy is pretty much a dream come true. The only other Exotic that packs more punch with subclass keywordsisConditional Finalityfrom the Root of Nightmares raid.

The ideal use of a fully upgradedTwo-Tailed Foxis to have one person in the fireteam running it, similarto aGjallarhornuser. While it’s not as necessary asGjallarhorn, it can be a nice added debuffing tool against some bosses.
