Deadpool3electrified Marvel fans when it was announced that legendary Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman would reprise his iconic role in the film alongside Ryan Reynolds. WhileDeadpool 3was originally envisioned as a road trip, that idea was shelved when the film was integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a bold move for the kid-friendly franchise.
While the actor’s return to the iconic role had some people questioningwhat the point of Wolverine’s send-off inLoganwasin light of the character’sDeadpool 3appearance, the vast majority of fans were just happy to see Jackman again and began speculating about his role and appearance in the upcoming film. With filming onDeadpool 3recently wrapped,Jackmantook to his account on X to post pictures of his celebratory shave, including one with a view of some thumbnails from his gallery. On closer inspection, one of these images showing Jackman in an embrace with a cast member reveals the actor in costume but without the arm sleeves seen in other images released, a costume design that more closely mirrors his suit’s style in almost every comic book appearance.
In addition to the missing sleeve, the image also features what appears to be much smaller handwear in place of the stylized gloves that Logan tends to sport when in full uniform, and that has been present in promo material up until now. As such, it is possible that the star took off the sleeves and gloves of the costume between takes or after filming. Still, the possibility that Wolverine will be bare-armed is quite appealing becauseDeadpool 3is the closest fans have ever gotten to a comics-accurate suit for the character, except for including the sleeves. However, considering that the sleeves were present in what seemed to bea behind-the-scenes look at aDeadpool 3fight scene, the odds that the sleeves have been scrapped in favor of the bare arms approach are vanishingly slim.
Whether or not the costume has been updated to fit better with the comics,Deadpool 3is still easilyone of 2024’s most highly anticipated sequelsand will likely get fans excited on release regardless. How many sneak peeks that fans have seen up until this point (much to the chagrin of the film’s leading man) will make it into the final film is still unknown, so everyone will have to wait patiently for the launch as per Reynolds' instructions.
Deadpool 3is set for theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
