While many players feel that the Plague Doctor inDarkest Dungeon 2is so good at support, the Vestal is flat-out better in the role. That’s not to say the Vestal is better overall, the Plague Doctor is fantastic as dispensing damage over time effects and has a unique spot in the squad. But for gamers seeking a pure support hero, the Vestal is it.

There are several builds to choose from with the Vestal, all of which are good. But players who want to take the strongest support hero inDarkest Dungeon 2and make her even stronger will find that enemies have no angle for victory against a Vestal with the right build.
Skills
With these skills, players can keep Block or Dodge up on the tanks and Crit or Strength up on the damage dealers for several rounds without needing to recast. With the selected path, the two consecration abilities will power up Divine Grace for huge healing.

Divine Comfort keeps the entire team regenerating health for those knicks and bruises while Ministrations gets rid of damaging debuffs on top of Stun and Daze tokens.Enemies with huge Ordainment buffsdon’t stand a chance.
Path
Seraph makes Consecration of Fortitude and Consecration of Light last for five rounds each and gives the Vestal her unique Conviction tokens every time these tokens activate. Getting two stacks per round frees up the Vestal to dish out her healing and take care of any negative tokens accrued.
If there is any downside to this build it’s that the vestal has no damage abilities. But this is actually a perk as it makes damage a dump stat, freeing her up to use trinkets that might punish damage. Afterunlocking and choosing the hero path, it’s a favorite among the veterans of the franchise.
Trinkets
Divine Comfort heals for even more with Icon Of The Light equipped. The Vestal’s consecration abilities also decrease stress by one per round, virtually eliminating stress as an issue. The cost is a 50% reduction in melee damage which will not impact this build at all.

Upgrading skillswill already make the healing for the character stronger, but a trinket like the Indelible Protectorate that increases healing even more will essentially erase any non-fatal blow damage from the game.
Combat Item
For those doing the math, every single one of these Vestal skills has a cooldown. Sometimes that means the Vestal has only a limited number of options. This isn’t the end of the world since the Vestal can use these opportunities to move and position properly.
Still, wasting a turn to move or stay put isn’t ideal. Ethereal Dust can remove all cooldowns from the Vestal. This also allows the character to stack Divine Comfort healing which is very overpowered. With this item, the Vestal automatically becomes one ofthe best heroes in the game.
