Daredevilactor Charlie Cox has discussed the approach that they will like be taking for his character moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Many were wondering how, when and if the fan favorite Marvel television series will return to the MCU.

Daredevilwill reportedly be keeping the story of the Netflix series as canon while also giving the character a fresh new take. HowDaredevil moves forward in the MCUremains unknown, but Cox has at least one idea.

During a panel, Cox admitted that with the MCU’s introduction of the multiverse, this is the perfect time to have anew start with Daredevil. “In keeping with a lot of things in the MCU now, where there’s this alternate reality thing going on, what they’ve done with Spider-Man, and the animation Spider-Verse, it’s a good time to have this,” Cox said. However, Cox noted that this does not necessarily mean a reboot is needed, but perhaps a time jump could be used instead. “A few years have passed,” he said. “It’s Daredevil but it’s re-imagined, it’s slightly different. Do you know what I texted my friends when I found out this was all happening? ‘Born again.'”

With a new and re-imagined version of Daredevil, maybe fans will see a heightened version of the character. Maybe viewers will get to see more acrobatics, super senses and in-depth fight scenes.Daredevil’s cameo inSpider-Man: No Way Homeshowed the character catch a brick that was thrown from outside the apartment without fumbling or hesitation. Not that he hasn’t done anything like this in the show, but this was on a bigger scale with how impressive it was.

One new thing that would be nice to see for the character is a morecomic-accurate Daredevil costume, a lot more use of the dual sticks, more rappelling and maybe some aspects of a bulletproof costume. Seeing as how Batman is often displayed with a bulletproof suit, it would be nice to see this adopted in the MCU. Daredevil would need something to make him be able to face off against some of the more powerful foes that the MCU has been introducing.

Having him wear a homemade outfit that is often ripped, teared and shredded by street thugs isn’t feasible when the MCU is now having aliens from other worlds descend to Earth. Marvel Studios has done a good job at keeping the Avengers and Defenders’ conflicts separate, but it would be nice to see a big team up. It no longer makes sense to not have any of these heroes run into each other. If Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury are considered Avengers without having superpowers then it would be a welcome addition to see Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher and Daredevil join as well.
