Modern Warfarecontinues to be anabsolute sales juggernaut, with millions of players dropping into the battlefield in bothModern Warfare’s multiplayer andWarzone’s battle royale stage. With such a large player base to cash in on, Activision and Infinity Ward are keeping the wheels constantly in motion getting more content out to players. This week’s update promises a lot.

One piece of theModern Warfareupdate introduces a new weapon for players to buy or earn, the MK9 Bruen LMG. For players who want to jump right in the fray with the new gun in hand, they can buy the gun as part of the ‘Encryption’ bundle in the store. The Legendary blueprint ‘The Glitch’ will be available to players who go this route. If earning the weapon is more satisfying, then players can opt to complete a challenge under the LMG tab, find LMG Foxtrot, and complete the associated challenge to unlock the weapon.
Besides new weaponry, the update will also feature a new weapon camo, that requires its own set of challenges to unlock. The update will also shake upWarzone, including a change to thesize and speed of the gas circle, though just what effect this will have remains to be seen.
With so much being introduced with every update, players sometime miss out on anew weapon or perkthat they definitely should be using. It is sometimes hard to keep up with everything being packed into the game.
Something else difficult to keep up with are cheaters, who are constantly trying to stay ahead of updates that may catch them manipulating the system. Infinity Ward has tried to implement anti-cheat measures thatthrow cheaters together in the same lobby. The move should give the developer a chance to review cheat cases by monitoring the accused as they play a match against one another.
However, several players are reporting that they have been banned for no reason, and arelooking for answers from Activision. The ban hammer can come down hard on a player, with little to no recourse for reinstatement. As with any game that employs continual updates and always seems to be tweaking the system, perhaps the system for reporting and banning cheaters will improve and produce less false positives in the future.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfarerumbles on, providing a steady stream of new content for players. Whilesome changes upset the fanbase, or anti-cheat measures implemented catch innocent victims, the process is always evolving. Players will just have to see how things feel after the update, and adding a sweet gun like the MK9 Bruen LMG is something fans can dig.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
