The mid-season update forCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis bringing a bunch of new content to the game, including trials and a new weapon. Titled Season 5 Reloaded, this bigModern Warfareupdatealso features some new additions to Gunfight, including a new map.
As described in the update, the newest 2v2 map is called Verdansk Stadium. The map is a much smaller version of the Stadium inWarzone, which is being used in a new glitch tohelp players become invincible. The map takes place “on the pitch level of the larger Stadium” and is described as an extremely small playing space like the other gunfight maps. Players will use the Stadium’s “tents, crates and other obstacles for cover.”

A new map is not all there is coming to the game for Gunfight fans, though. Tournament mode is set to return to Gunfight as part of the Games of Summer event kicking off August 28th, which also features a newWarzonegame mode and another version of Ground War in multiplayer. The option togiftModern Warfarebattle passeswas also added recently, which Gunfight players can definitely work on as they play the new content.
For those unfamiliar with Tournament, the feature tasks players with winning a series of games in succession to gain extra rewards. The rewards, as described in the post, are purely cosmetic. Health regeneration is disabled in the tournament, as is respawning, just like normal gunfights. The tournament places 16 teams in a bracket, with winning teams moving forward in the tournament and losers being dropped from the competition. The tournaments should be easy enough for skilled players to progress through, so long as they aren’t fooled by theskilled player that can mimic weapon sounds.
Tournaments are a great addition to gunfight and are making a welcome return to the mode. Even better, this time around, tournaments will be part of the free access weekend taking place from August 28th to September 2nd. Giving players who haven’t tried the mode the chance to experience it, despite not having the full game, is a always a smart move.Call of Duty: Modern Warfarefans can win over their friends with this free trial, and ensure more players give the awesome 4 player mode a go. New players can even make use ofModern Warfare’sdouble XP token glitch, assuming it survives to the weekend.
Seeing Gunfight get so much support is nice to see, as it is one of the best features inModern Warfare. With a brand-new map, the return of tournaments, and a free trial weekend, it has never been a better time to pair up with a friend for some 2v2 action.
